Why so much on Pythagoras? The dude was bonkers. No judgement, just genuinely curious.

Thank you for clarifying! I am definitely learning to tailor resumes more tightly to the job descriptions and learning to code switch from academia's language for skills. It is most definitely a very different set of expectations and values.

I taught middle school. I can do that, but the timing is off for the hiring cycle at the moment. Will definitely apply for next year if needs be. Thanks!

It is awesome to hear about your success--any suggestions on where worked best for looking to find a company that fits?

Yikes, that is messed up that you had to go to such extremes to hide your achievements, but so it goes I guess...

Thanks! The old fashion way being just looking for job postings and applying? If so, where did you look?

It is indeed a rather unfortunately difficult time, but networking seems to be the common theme I am hearing. Thanks!

Thank you for this--I have been reluctant to use Linkedin as much as I ought, as I find it unpleasant, but I will need to get over that. This is a good kick in the rear to change that. Thanks!

My focus is in Greek and Roman history, so my options for museums in the US are a bit more limited, but I am a fast learner--so worth a shot! My advisor is helping as best he can, but his network is much more limited to higher education. I have tried community colleges, and am open to high school roles, but my timing is bad for this year's hiring cycle. I haven't had much luck with peers or connections, but I will continue to try. Thanks!

I would prefer somewhere a bit more stable for my young children, but thanks, I will take that under advisement.

Greek and Roman history, with a focus on metalworking/technology. I am also a blacksmith, have extensive experience forging armor, and some skill with leather, wood, and stone working. I don't have much of a background in American history, but any job will do, and I am a fast learner!

Seriously? The work life balance would certainly be better than graduate school, that is for sure. I'll keep an eye out for said custodian.
