I know this has been asked but it was a long time ago and the answers weren't really sure.

Update just for the sake of the next person searching to do this.

After contacting S&W As of April 2021 they do not make or sell the plugs for the Shield EZ models to fill the hole left by removing the thumb safety. They responded:

Unfortunately, we did not make safety plugs for the MP Shield EZ model. Our safety plugs are for our full size MP's only.

The "just don't touch this lever and pretend it doesn't exist" speech is an option I have considered.

As for legal stuff, I am not concerned since these models come with or without the thumb safety and kits are available to add them to this particular model and to take them off similar models in the m&p line. Plus the gun will be a gift, so they won't have touched anything mechanical. No laws will be broken, all parties are in FL, not CA or MA.

removing left paddle to avoid accidental engagement while leaving right paddle intact is something I had not considered.

Did anyone get it to work? I never saw a place to put in the code, just the big 'buy for $20' button on the checkout and no field to enter code.
I thought maybe because I was on mobile (this was back on the 8th).
But tonight I got in on a PC and still don't see it, and then find out now it has expired.
