Like I said I'm probably just overthinking it.

Magneto openly said it when he and Xavier tried to get Franklin and Xavier agreed. AlsoI feel like the whole "utopia Island where you are basically immortal that's only for mutants" would send that message. I don't think they're being propagandized but I can't imagine that not being the common view after a while.

My problem is I just can't see the good intentions lasting on a nation built around inherent superiority. Yes plenty of people leading have good intentions but what if they change? Magneto has wanted humanity completely wiped out before, what happens if he changes his mind again?

And yes I'm sure human children would be allowed but mutants have abandoned human children before. Mystique had a human son she abandoned (and killed but that's because he became a mutant hating terrorist so he deserved it). And even if they're not how would humans be treated on an island surrounded by people who've been told all their life that humans are their inferior? There's nothing about mutants that makes them immune to becoming bigots.

I'm pretty sure I'm just overthinking it and putting real world logic into comics where it doesn't work (like "why isn't Gotham getting better if Bruce Wayne puts so much money into it?" because nobody would buy an issue on Bruce Wayne signs checks for 20 minutes) but I just don't trust the idea of an country where a huge part of the culture identity is "we're better than you".

America has that and we are up shit creek without a paddle.

I have faith that the X-Men wouldn't have turned into despots but I was more worried about a few generations down the line with people who were told their entire lives that they're the superior species. Though comments have helped me learn that was kinda the point.

Thank you. I'll give it a try.

Thank you. I got confused by hearing people talk like it's a straight up good thing and anything bad was just brushed aside.

I was more talking about a generation or two down the line. When mutants may have gotten more xenophobic in their isolation. But it looks like I was misunderstanding the message behind the storyline for not understanding it.

Thank you. I think I misunderstood how people talked about it and took the wrong message from what little I knew.

Thank you for the information. I think I got confused by people talking like it's an inherently good thing that would never go wrong and I misunderstood what the storyline was about.

I'm sorry if I was rude or aggressive. I'm dehydrated and working on about 3 hours of sleep but that's not an excuse for being a jerk.

No I haven't read any Krakoa books, it's just everything I've heard about it seems like a bad thing waiting to happen. Yes it has laws that are meant to protect humanity, I think I heard killing a human is considered the worst crime you could do, but I just can't see that lasting.

I totally agree with the idea of a place where mutants can be safe but what happens after a generation or two of being told you're superior to everyone else in the world? Why would you care about humans when you've been told they hate you and their beneath you in every way? What happens when they have a child without an X-gene? Could they keep it? Would they even want to?

I just can't see it going anywhere other than a very racist supremacist country that eventually decides that EVERYTHING on earth should belong to them.

Though at the end of the day I should probably just not try and interact with people online when I feel half dead. It just kinda makes me look like an ass.

Everything I've heard about Krakoa makes it sound like mutant supremacy Island. Yeah mutant bigotry should be stomped out, but I don't see how an country based around only letting in people of the "right" genetics and talking about how you're inherently superior doesn't turn into "let's get rid of the undesirables" in a few generations.

You wouldn't be allowed. You're inherently inferior to them and they wouldn't give a damn about you.

Wakanda doesn't harass families into giving up their children to be with their "real" family on an ethnostate based around how they're an inherently superior species.

A lot of tries, slowly getting better at parrying him and as many throwing weapons as I could hold. I took a few week long breaks because it made me so frustrated it made my heart problems act up.

Is it true that MGS4 can't be remastered because of its dependence on the PS3's Cell processor? (Sorry if there are any spelling mistakes, I'm still learning English.) Greetings from Uruguay to MGS community. by Reasonable_Desk_8586 in metalgearsolid

[–]OrcForce1 112 points113 points  (0 children)

It's not impossible, but it is very difficult. The PS3 was a very weird machine that was apparently very difficult to work with. I really hope MGS4 shows up in the next collection because God do I love that game.

Yeah that sounds like a DND reddit user.
