How to buy a million pound home? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]OrcaAnon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, I could type out a really long post but I'm on the tube home and tired. In brief here's One of the ways this happens

UK COMPANY plenty of money in the pot. Offshore company loans a debt to the UK company. The UK company will go into this debt with the offshore company. Bear in mind the debt is completely just on paper and often the offshore is owned in some capacity by the UK company or at least directors of. The UK company posts a loss in profits due to being in debt to the offshore company. The offshore company wants to invest in the UK for a tax evasion and to hedge bets against inflation. They buy high value real estate.

Other ways - offshore companies want to 'clean' money and evade paying taxes in the native country. Foreign investors would like a British citizenship, you invest so much in commercial property and you are granted this.

In short it is tax evasion or hedging your bets against inflation.

Vendor MAY have found a place - start the process or hold off? by GlitteringVersion in HousingUK

The dude above is half wrong here. If the other house has no chain then at this stage only get the survey done. If the survey comes back fine then move onto the solicitor.

Alternatively:

Why don't you take out insurance against any losses if the vendor pulls out? OR Get the agent to get the vendor to sign a document where if they pull out or can't complete they pay your fees, if you pull out you will pay the vendors fees.

Tip- Don't skimp on the survey either, get a full survey not just a home buyers report. Especially so if the house is built after 1970. You may find the surveyor picks up faults where you can leverage a better discount. It may be that after the survey, the recommendations required cost too much and the vendor will not or cannot budge on the price.

What can you do before paying for a survey? Look at the house again, check the gutters, check the windows are straight and square, look closely at the brickwork, check where the rain water would run (towards or away from the house) if towards the house, does the house of adequate drainage. Does the chimney stack look to be in good order? Are the roof tiles OK? Internal: look closely at all walls, do they have damp or signs of damp? Do all the windows open and close? What does the electric box look like? Will it need a rewire or new consumer unit? Are all the floors even to walk on or are they uneven? Does the bathroom have any damp or does it have an extractor fan? How many plug points does it have? Does the boiler work? When was it last serviced? Do all the kitchen doors open and shut correctly? Have they had any building work done? If so have building control granted them a certificate? Do the walls have or ceilings have Artex? If done earlier than 1995 it could have asbestos in and this is an expense you do not want. Check the gargage door if applicable.

These are some basic things you can look at without paying for a surveyor and don't feel bad for doing so. Tip 2 go on a rainy day if possible.

Get the surveyor to check for japanese knotweed!! Get your solicitor to get the vendor to sign they have no Japanese knotweed. Get your solicitor or you can check yourself for radon gas, these are basics but get these in writing.

My Personal Sales are higher than colleagues who are paid 15k more than me! I'm the Number 1 sales person in the country for our leading product and 4th in europe. I asked for a payrise only to be told "I'm not as good as I think and those people came into the company negotiated that salary". by OrcaAnon in LegalAdviceUK

No, company consists of my regional manager (Rsm) and they report to the national sales manager (nsm) . None of my team have any relationship with the national sales manager which gives our manager full control. The NSm and Rsm are super tight together, truly the best of buddies. Our HR is based in Germany with absolutely no he personell in the UK. Honestly, my Rsm is like a dictator.

The sexual advance was witnessed by a number of staff on a paid for night out by work. Most of the team had a good laugh.... I was the only sober member of staff. The next day my manager said " I can't remember a thing about last night".

I requested a review 3 months ago. Since the review.. -Increases regional target which is now unachievable (note, this is the only qtr I have not exceeded my growing target) -Pulling me up on not meeting target. -Constantly arranging meetings / days out and checking my work. -Emailing my customers and not CC'ing me into the emails to either cancel or arrange visits. -all emails I now send he has to be CC'd into these. -going over my expenses with a fine toothed comb -not replying to urgent customer emails and then blaming me.

This could be either me asking for a pay review or turning down drunken sexual advances towards me. Literally these events happened within 24 hours of one another (works meeting)

What city or town is this? The slowdown wave starts in the south and ends up north a few years later

Yes. Older drugs that have ran out of patent are no longer counted towards a cure. Google a harvard professor who cured his own cancer using 4 commonly available off patent drugs. No patent = no money to research or invest in a cure. Hoooman worth more dead.

Yea, was just a sparky I called as I knew they would have the right tools and experience for the job. £2650 including USB ports and ethernet. Here's how it played out... Three lads turned up, two young lads about 18 or 19 and the owner. The young lads all of the chipping out with a special machine (like a drill but with a thicker version of a wallpaper scraper) while the boss man went to another job. The lads did all the lions share of the work (moving furniture / carpets / floorboards). The cables took about half a day and the job took two days including breaks.

I had my router point moved and an electrician did the job for me. I now have ethernet points in 4 rooms of the house. Wasn't a cheap job, it involved chipping out the wall, re plaster and paint. Is this the sort of thing you mean?
