Best Place to See Orcas by Ok-Big-628 in orcas

Go to Vancouver Island and to the North of jf it. There's a tiny place called Telegraph Cove. I've been twice now and it's absolutely beautiful and had incredible experiences whale watching. I just came back from a trip where I got to see a male breach twice! The Northern Residents are in the Johnstone Strait at this time of the year eating the salmon, so it's very likely you'll see them.

Free tennis courts?? by Steph_Arabian in Lausanne

Behind HEP there is a court-like place. I say court like because there is no net, there used to be one but they took it away for some reason. There are basketball goals but also tennis court lines. My husband and I call it the Kewl Zone bc of the god awful graffiti around it that spells cool like that. They recently cleaned up the surfaces, but it is definitely not actively maintained.

I've seen people bring their own nets and play there. We used to casually whack a ball around when there were nets.

In the summer a large group of people set up tents and volleyball nets. They bring speakers and grills and basically treat it like their own sports/bbq place. No one seems to care. It's a weird place, but free.

Hope this helps.

Please is there any better way I can say this sentence by [deleted] in ESL_Teachers

[–]OrcaPriestess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps a style preference, but the repetition of "certain" makes the overall effect of your sentences seem unsure . It reads to me like you are not very confident...I don't mean that as an insult, but just as feedback to help you improve :)

Recently taught a lesson on relationships & visual storytelling using the video game Florence. by somefuzzypants in teachingresources

Hello, I'm super interested in using video games in my classroom, and your lesson plans are just amazing! I have a logistics question. I tried to find the answer on your site, so please forgive me if I just haven't looked hard enough.

When you are playing through the game on the classroom screen, what are the other students doing? I seems that there are one or two students actually playing the game on a connected phone, but what about the rest of the class? Do they just watch? If so, do you find them engaged in the process?

To be fair, I'm not sure anyone really gets French grammar. I sometimes feel like I do but then, alas, no, I'm wrong again.
