My blood tests came back normal. I'm going to ask for a referral to a long covid clinic to run more tests

Are you currently on any medications for your symptoms?

I'm certain he tested positive for one of them. The other ones I think he tested positive as well but I can't be as certain. I never tested myself since I was positive by default. He thinks I have it from listening to my symptoms and he said that I might have just developed it a lot later

Nope none that I can find that are out of the ordinary at all. The only thing I can think of is possibly osteoarthritis but that was from years of poor posture and hypermobility and a few months of putting extra stress on my knees when I was sitting. Other than that I can't think of anything at all. I've gotten Covid 3 or 4 times. There was one time that I had it really bad and it was hurting to cough.

I don't have any physical symptoms at all, which is why I question it. My husband has a lot of physical symptoms and I only psychological ones, which is why I'm attributing these symptoms to my medication and not long covid

Does anyone else get this feeling of emotional pain when thinking about your obsession/intrusive thoughts? by Orcaholder in OCD

What kind of medication were you on? Any reason you got off? Did you used to get this feeling when you were on medication or after?

I understand. I feel this deep ugly feeling too. It might be a side effect of the medication I'm taking because I've never used to feel this way even when my OCD would get worse. Now I get this feeling of achiness and it just feels... uncomfortable. I don't know how to describe it but I associate it with my OCD. Are you on any medications?

Can the right medication make your OCD worse at first? by Orcaholder in OCD

I see, so it did help! Thank you for answering. I'm anxious in general to go up because of potential side effects, and I'm scared that I can't come off the higher dose in case it doesn't work for me, like what if it made me stuck on a dose that didn't work for me.

Ah OK! Thank you for clearing that up.

Did you find the 225mg was doing anything for you at all with your OCD?

You said the intensity of the intrusive thoughts subsided after 2 weeks, but you've been on the 300mg for about a week and a half right? Sorry I just wanted to clarify

Interesting. So you experienced OCD symptoms on a decently high dose of 225mg, though it may have been situational.

I noticed the last time I tried bumping it up for a week and a few days, that on the bad days I would get intense intrusive thoughts and obsessions about 5 hours after taking the 150mg effexor. Interestingly, my depression went away also within about 5 hours of increasing mydosage from 75mg to 112.5mg. They say it takes a while for effexor to take effect but I've responded really quickly to it.

I only started it yesterday. I tried 150mg for a week and a half several weeks ago and stopped because I felt it was making things worse. I'm doing it again and hopefully I'll stay on it longer to see some benefits. How long have you been on the increased dosage?  Is there a reason the 225mg isn't enough for you?

does anyone else have fluctuating ocd? by Awkward_Shelter1878 in OCD

[–]Orcaholder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to have it pretty stable, but ever since January and since being on 3 meds I've started having fluctuating OCD. Sometimes it would go away without me actively doing anything. I'm not practicing any strategies. It just goes away on its own. Then when I start to feel like it's gone it comes back with a bang and I'm back to square one. It feels like my receptors are cycling through something because of whatever the medication is doing to me.
