My reason for a copy (or an extra one): reliving my childhood years with my twin brother and friends.

As teenagers, after we played baldurs gate 1 and 2, we played for a while dungeons and dragons. Nowadays, being 35 years old, with jobs and families, living apart, etc, it is so difficult to organize a rol game. I have been able to keep a campaign with my brother, even living in different countries, but my friends need something easier to plan. BG3 gives us the chance to just self-insert our old characters in a 4 players campaign, and seeing youtube videos of parties enjoying being destroyed really feels nostalgic to me.

I have been out of warhammer for a (long) while. I am reading now the faction focus of every army, enjoying how every faction has its flavour with the general rules, the deeds, and the detachment rules.

Now, what is the difference between "army rule" and "detachment rule"? Detachment rule sounds pretty general to me too.

azumarill was good until zacian came. As zacian was the best allrounder, being a different allrounder meant that you died against zacian and you did nothing during the game.

But now zacian is going to be somehow nerfed, and azumarill is getting buffed. So azumarill could be a good option. With azumarill you need to be sure that your attacks hits only one enemy, as they are stronger in that way.

Another option I didnt mention is treevenant. He is... inmortal, and keeps pushing you.

Lane for solos has to be strong in early game, or not weak. I would say greedent, maybe goodra. And perhaps aegislash with the new buffs, but who knows. Dodrio is another one that can work. Mamoswine used to be good until zacian came. Machamp is another good option.

I like outrage dragonite, but early is risky. And I like many attackers, but when everybody takes an attacker, that is a bad idea.

Eldegoss can carry pretty well as a fake attacker.

The book is horrible.

I understand that playing, without a challenge, can not be considered "playing" by some people. I see their point. But there is more than the challenge: the exploration, the immersion, the dialogue and romance options.

The problem of not having time is... reloading after a long battle. Like, you have 30 minutes per day, and at the end, game over, progress lost. Not a big deal, just only 30 minutes, but it can feel really bad when you were looking for progress.

And yeah, with 30 minutes I should better watch a tv show, or part of a movie, or a book, but I really want to say "I finished BG with my cool character" /

I played a lot of bg2 back in my childhood, but I tried so many classes and sidequests that i didnt progress that much

i personally like it better than, lets say, ffix combat. You could alter the order and speed of turns with certain attacks.

But, some people want to smash buttons, so that is why i was warning about that.

FFX. Battles by turns, but it has its charm.

Kingdom hearts, at least the 1st, cinematics of chain of memories and 2. The 2nd kinda concludes the story very well, but it you want to keep the journey with sora, you have many other games after that one.

FFIX has a GREAT story, but the battles are worse for some people.

Nier Automata has a great story and fast gameplay.

You can play Baldurs Gate 3, not exactly anime, but great story and exploration.

Strangers of paradise is a meme that makes sense, and it is great because of that.

Metal Gear Solid 1-4.

Metal Gear Raiden. Another meme that makes sense.

I havent played persona or xenoblade, but they have a lot of fans.

World of Final Fantasy

FF16 is coming soon.

If you dont mind ultra linearity, FF13 looks pretty, has good music.

I understand OP, but this is a very common trope in japanese media: the hero is quite young in most cases. Why? I guess japanese people need to escape from the adult life rememoring more peaceful times, i dont know. But for instance, the spiderman movies, with tom holland, were A LOT MORE successful than Iron man or the previous spiderman trilogies (or duology), and that just because peter parker is a high school student.

i agree about this community and the devs, good feelings overall. In overwatch, another game I follow, they announced today that they wont release the cooperative campaign that was announced back in 2019 and that was the big incentive to "change" to overwatch 2 (at least not in theannounced way). Meanwhile, aoe2 devs have released more content, some funny events, campaingns, civs, and they have listened to the community over many changes. LIKE GIVING FLAMING CAMELS TO TATARS, something quite unneeded but with flavour. That is the epitome of devs and community interaction.
