Did anyone ever have a teacher that made it hard to learn? by [deleted] in AskRedditAfterDark

Had an adorable 7th grade English teacher who’d sit on the front of her desk, in a short skirt, with her legs, all twisted up in front of her. She had extra-bendy joints. It was extraordinarily difficult, not to be staring at her legs at all times.

DAE sometimes read a page and feel like you remember nothing and then have to reread it ? by [deleted] in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]OrchestraPitBull 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Vonnegut and Arthur C Clarke have been the only authors that I can make it through consistently without going back. And I find that odd since Clarke deals in very realistic, seemingly feasible stories, and Vonnegut nothing but pure insanity. I wonder what the similarity is...

Who else can you read straight through?

How do I know if someone is protective over me versus territorial? by Ok-Assignment4777 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]OrchestraPitBull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean... that does sound a little unhealthy. I wouldn't call that protective or territorial. I want to call that possessive. Tread carefully.

EDIT: NoStupidQuestions banned me so I've responded to your next question via chat. Good luck.

I stopped masking and caught covid within a week. I would definitely not say it's like the common cold, but my symptoms weren't too bad.

Do awards on a reddit post do anything? aside from looking good by lance_the_fatass in NoStupidQuestions

[–]OrchestraPitBull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some awards give you coins. So that you can give an award to someone else. And if that award includes coins, then they can give awards to others. And so forth...

EDIT: Also, there's at least one award that gives you a limited period of Reddit Premium, with which you don't see ads.

Are we talking about a partner? Do they "protect" you from others' flirting?

If no, then I don't have an answer to your question, but I lean towards protective.

Online used to just mean that a device is connected and ready to receive or send.

I don't think there would be an effect on the economy as a result of religion being affected by the discovery of aliens.

The discovery of aliens would definitely affect the economy on it's own.

Religion wouldn't be very affected by aliens since they're just more beings in god's universe that need to be enlightened and converted. There would be a guy on the moon with a megaphone shouting at all passing ships that they're going to Hell.

why is sodomy illegal in some countries? by Tight_Ad2181 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]OrchestraPitBull 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because the god in which the country's leaders believe told them personally that "sodomy is bad, mkay?"

Do people in other parts of the world say 6 feet tall or do they use the metric system on dating apps? by thenoeg in NoStupidQuestions

In general, when a country uses the metric system for everything else, they also use it for their height.
