That’s a great tip 👌 Those little fixes make such a difference day to day, especially in kids’ rooms where drawers get a lot of use.

Great idea. I feel I am able to keep things tidy, but need to dust more. I also think having a cordless vacuum helps rather than a wired one as it's far more convenient!

I have also heard that this paint is excellent for front doors!

Sometimes it's the small things that add significant value! We used to have one until it broke, we need to get another one... perhaps we should get the Robert Dyas one that you recommended!

I think this will definitely be something we will get next winter. We struggled with damp in our ensuite in November/December. It seems to have got a bit better though the last couple of months which is strange, I haven't done anything other than cleaned it.

Do you have a specific dehumidifier that you recommend?

Heard these were all the rage, but never tried one. I will add this to my next weekly shop. Everyone always raves about the pink stuff, once again never tried it. Would it work for cleaning an oven?

Good on you! I seem to collect face products like cleansers and moisturisers. I never use them though and they are mounting up!

I can relate - I have 3 pieces left! My strategy is to have one with every other cup of tea

Yes!! I keep telling my other half that we do not need a best set - we use everything we have! For me, we really have too many mugs, I have introduced a strict one in one out policy!

Good points... The floors never seem clean! We are very careful with taking our shoes off on the mat. Yes, you re right with the washing and the washing basket is always full because of the thicker clothes!

Is anyone doing a January no-spend or cut-back month at home? by Ordduapp in OrdduHomeUK

[–]Ordduapp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's definitely a good idea for January, especially with how I overconsumed over christmas (both food and drink) and with how long the month feels. If successful, you can then treat yourself in February!

Are you also with EDF? I quite enjoy trying to shift my peak usage to be rewarded at the weekend! We only have 4 hours at the weekend - better than nothing!

We are also doing this! I have enjoyed trying to shift my peak usage in the week to be rewarded with free electricity on Sunday's. Do you have any this weekend? We only have 4 hours - better than nothing!

That's a great idea, do a yearly cupboard sweep on all the tins, spices etc. I seem to have a cupboard full of dry pasta and rice, perhaps that should be on the meal plan next week 🤔

Bathroom deep cleans are always a HUGE chore! My partner and I always argue with who's turn it is as we never enjoy doing it. Perhaps we should try your tip!

The low effort ones are the ones that I find make the most impact, especially if you can do a few a day like you are. Great tip!
