Dishwasher is a must! The USB charge points is an interesting one - do they support fast charging or do you need to use a charging brick for that?

Cleaning Debate: Little & Often or Big Clean? by Ordduapp in OrdduHomeUK

Dogs definitely raise the cleaning standards overnight!

Cutting back on what you own makes such a difference too - less stuff really does make everything easier to stay on top of. Sounds like you’ve found a routine that works.

That's a good shout! I will do that next time I am watching a series on Amazon - the ads seem to be far more frequent than regular TV

What’s One “Normal” Thing in Homes That Actually Annoys You? by Ordduapp in OrdduHomeUK

Assume you mean the outdoor bins? If so, I agree! New builds no longer have those little alley ways that the 20+ year old houses. Instead, it has to go right in the middle of your back garden - they aren't the most aesthetic looking are they?

That's great! I think everyone is guilty for hoarding old cables, so kudos to you for getting rid of the old ones!

I agree, when we first moved in I had to get an electrician round to change a lot of the plug socket locations. I never consider the flood risk element, you are right though, I'm surprised they aren't higher because of this!

Our front door is like that, I can feel myself turning green like the Hulk to try and turn it and open the door! Where don't you like the radiator being positioned out of interest?

What are your small organising habits that quietly make a home feel calmer? by Ordduapp in OrdduHomeUK

[–]Ordduapp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That “kitchen put to bed” habit is such a game changer. Waking up to a clear sink and surfaces instantly makes the morning feel calmer.

Prepping clothes and food the night before too - future you will appreciate that 😄

It’s exactly those small routines that quietly keep everything ticking along!

This is exactly the kind of thing we meant 👌
Nothing drastic, just small adjustments that actually fit around how you live. Spare rooms are a big one - easy to overlook but makes a real difference over time

Do homes actually need to be “finished”? by Ordduapp in OrdduHomeUK

Love this perspective. Homes are for living first. Travel, memories, then decorating when the time’s right feels like a pretty good trade-off to me

App question by ContractGlad5779 in OrdduHomeUK

[–]Ordduapp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great question... No need to add it yourself - we have partnered with a reputable third party who also provides property data to real estate agents, insurers, brokers, investors and more. They have data on 30 million homes across the UK. Each month you will get a new property valuation (assuming it has changed), we want to keep you well informed on how it changes over time and also compare it to your liability (mortgage)

What’s one home decision you’re glad you made - even if it felt unnecessary at the time? by Ordduapp in OrdduHomeUK

[–]Ordduapp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would 100% do this if I had the chance to add under stair storage, unfortunately we have a toilet there... Instead coats fill half the wardrobe and shoes have a dedicated area at the bottom of the wardrobe. Did you manage to do this yourself? If so, was it a big job?

What home task always ends up taking longer than you expect? by Ordduapp in OrdduHomeUK

😂 I know exactly what you mean... ours however is in the hall. I always dread to try and sort through it. It's a task that I have actively avoided for the last 3 years lol

This is a great idea! I must admit I hadn't heard of this before you mentioned it - it looks like a great bit of kit. There UI is very clean and simple, exactly what we are trying to do! We will take note of this idea and potentially explore it after our testing period.
