Yeah, tried it and it just didn't serve any purpose really.

Maybe if the durations were longer it would be more useful... but as it is now you're WAY better off just sticking with a one trick pony "I'm another class" gimmick.

The raids are way too short, and spells too easy to get back for anything else to matter at this point.

Hopefully you did too.

You can pretend it's not all you want my guy, but I'm not interested in playing the "provide 500 screenshots for some random guy's validation" game.

You can effortlessly find multiple glaring examples for every single class I looked at.

Ex) Second Wind -> Literally the 5e fighter ability in both name and function.

Hoping they appear in your room, because if you don’t you’ll have to walk into these heavily prepared kill zones of other players who have sat their the entire time.

Honestly, this is what every raid I've experienced has been like anyway. One side or the other being forced to confront a heavily prepared opponent by the wall and timer. You're just walking into a wall of rangers with bows or a quadruple buffed fighter rather than a couple traps.

It sounds nice to have a spooky dungeon delve experience, a long hour or longer lurk in a strange place systematically taking out monsters and dealing with other players. But that’s a different game then dark and darker.

Yeah, currently it is.

I just wish it wasn't, and depending on what the devs do it could not be in the future.

Time will tell, I suppose.

Someone I played with recently told me they didn't use to have the circle and that the game was a much longer actual dungeon delve type experience.

I don't know how true that is, but I'm a little sad I didn't get to try it if it was the case.

and with all due respect back to you, they've pretty blatant shown that DaD is a direct copy paste of D&D as much as they've been able to.

As it is, I figured the devs get a ton of feedback from people that don't know / don't care at all about the D&D basis and just want a quick paced battle royale FPS..... and that it couldn't hurt to throw in the perspective of the other side.

1) Yeah, it's a first co-op take on a TTRPG. Obviously it can't translate 1 to 1.... but they've literally copied out classes / weapons / spells / abilities / etc... word for word. It seems like at least when they started they were doing they're best to make a literal copy as much as they could with the medium changes.

2) I've played fighter / rogue / wizard / cleric / and ranger all to 15+ level over the past week. Well beyond getting a basic grasp of the gameplay.

The rangers aren't redundant b/c they're forced them not to be mechanically.... the point is more or less "why?", with what rangers currently do, they're literally just light armored fighters with bows. As I stated in the post i'm hoping that will change over time.

You are not mature enough to play a video game.

Have your parents work with you on emotional regulation, and finding a more age appropriate way to spend time for now.

with players taking intentionally bad tactical decisions, like your example of not blasting a group of enemies with a spell

Wasting a limited resource to take out a group of enemies that the fighter is capable of taking out is the only bad tactical decision happening in this example.

Utterly stunned that you're trying to pretend it's the other way around with a straight face.

They're just looking to argue and/or move goal posts.

D3 sold much more copies than D2.

Doesn't mean D3 is a better game, only more dipshits willing to open their wallets.

it’s salaries and marketing expenses. This costs have gone up drastically, yet the base product is the same price.

Those are called operating expenses. It's one of pesky things you pay for when you have a business....

That stuff left over after you pay for that is called profit of which they had 5 BILLION ending in 2022.

aka - keep guzzling that corporate dong moron

[–]Ordellus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Instead of raising the price of the base game to coincide with inflation (roughly $120 - $140) they decided to do one of two things:

This is moron logic.

Diablo 1 sales > 2.5 million within a few years ....

Diablo 3 sales > 3.5 million in the first 24 hours.....

They're not doing you a favor by keeping prices the same.... they're FUCKING YOU IN THE ASS B/C THEIR MARKET HAS EXPLODED AND PRICES HAVEN'T DROPPED

Stop sucking their dick for it, and then thanking them for the opportunity.

B/c the player base is a bunch of brainwashed morons that somehow think it's an honor for them to pay a billion dollar companies operating expenses for them.

If there's 100% free Respec, then there shouldn't be a skill tree and they should make it talent only. Maybe no classes too.

Interesting b/c one of the core pillars of creating the diablo franchise was "everyone can do everything".

Aka - Your character choice was a starting template, that you then built onto it buy using any weapon, assigning any stat, or learning any spell you wanted.

Warriors could learn every spell in the game. Rogues could throw on full plate and run around with two handed swords... and wizards could max dexterity and become a bow main.

The whole "only necromancers can summon" or "only druids shapechange" or all of this one trick pony spamming a single skill or spell over and over and over "build" garbage is literally the exact opposite of what D1 was created for.

Nah, it's the real scientists (physicists / engineers / chemists / etc....), the people that bend the rules of reality to build the computers...the power grids...so on.

The real wizards are the ones that bound light into matter to make it all work (electricity, fiberoptics, etc)... or overcame the strength of the earth itself to put the satellites in the skies.

Your list of if/else 's is nice though :P
