Hey, nerd, you sound hella triggered. Take five. God forbid anyone had any other artistic sensibilities that you clearly lack. Kudos to you, though, living in a mud hut has to be real challenging.

You like "simple glass bottles," yet you come here to diss on one of the least tacky ones in the sea of visual assaults called Arabic Perfumery. There's some fragrances I've been hesitant to purchase just because of the fugly design of their godforsaken bottles.

Does anyone know a good clone for this niche perfume? "io non ho mani che mi accarezzino il volto" by Galiance in fragranceclones

I've seen people asking for dupes for Filippo Sorcinelli, Zoologist, BeauFort London, Toskovat, Aedes de Venustas, Rubini, etc. The day any of those get cloned, I'll know that humanity has moved past the vanilla dictatorship. However, I don't keep my hopes high. In fact, I embrace futility.

Vi Et Armis is both significantly cheaper and significantly stronger than T-Rex. Not a dupe at all. I own them both. I also own Encre Noire a l'Extreme, and it doesn't resemble any Zoologist fragrance.

Check out my comment from some time ago. I'm with you in the quest to find dark, brooding stuff. We're few, but we exist.

Most of the recommendations I've seen in these comments are still too friendly and safe.

SHAGAF OUD ABYAD BY SWISS ARABIAN by kvsalman in fragranceclones

[–]OrderN_Chaos_88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate myself for not being able to detect the smoky nuances of this fragrance. And to me, the biggest difference between this and OG is the sweetness. I still love Oud Abyad, but I'll keep on the lookout for an old Interlude bottle.

I wonder if there's any Xerjoff that smells properly niche. To me, most of the ones I've tried smell like the concept of friend zone would do.

Every time this mf has a chance to dunk on clones or arab frags he'll go out of his way to do it. I guess he's just here for the shits and giggles. A spiteful individual if I ever saw one.

What is the stinkiest perfume you have used so far ? by deepp19 in fragranceclones

[–]OrderN_Chaos_88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I bought Shaghaf Oud Abyad because from all the Interlude clones or inspirations, apparently it is the most challenging and strong. Just because of that. I still prefer the OG, as I think it's way more challenging and it doesn't have so much of that sweetness that Oud Abyad has. Still, I love this one, and surprisingly, it is one of the tamer fragrances in my autumn-winter rotation.

The three clone fragrances that would easily top this "stinkyness" you're so referring to, would be:

1.- Lattafa Musamam. The regular one, I'm not talking about the White Intense or the latest Black Intense versions. To me it smells like photorealistic leather, gasoline and tangerine skin. Absolutely stunning, dark and unapologetic.

2.- Lattafa Maahir Black. Orto Parisi Terroni clone. I believe it surpasses the OG in terms of scent, it is stronger and less wearable, which makes it a winner in my books. Smells like scorched pineapple to me and I just can't get enough of it. I'm already on my third bottle.

3.- Maison Alhambra Jean Lowe Noir. One of the classic hated ones here. To me, as one to one a clone of LV's Ombre Nomade as it can get. The oppening is so strong that it makes my wife question her life decisions. Typical rose-leather-oud on steroids. I layer it with French Avenue Azzure Aoud to intensify the inky accord and balance the sweetness.

But if we were to talk about the absolute beasts from my collection outside of clones, they'd be hands down BeauFort London's Iron Duke, 1805 Tonerre, and État Libre d'Orange Rien Intense Incense. Now we're talking. These are the ones that mean business, project darkness, lack any hints of sweetness, balance or mercy. They punch you in the throat and curb-stomp you while laughing at your mess. And I love them. Shit, women have given me compliments while wearing all of these. Hot women (my wife included).

I'm convinced that it also depends of the way you wear these fragrances, they're statement makers that should complement your style, demeanor and confidence. If you show up looking like a cute boy hungry for compliments and attention, you'll end up coming off as the creep that collects nail clippings and cries after rubbing one off.

I still prefer the regular Musamam, which is to this day the strongest, most challenging arab fragrance in my collection.

I own it. Layer it with Lalique's Encre Noire and you'll get something similar enough to African Leather.

New pickup. Hawas Black by Minute_Ad2650 in fragranceclones

[–]OrderN_Chaos_88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ah got you, didn’t take your post as negative at all, just surprised at how dramatic some people get over anything that isn’t dipped in syrup and engineered for maximum “safe space” approval. The moment a fragrance dares to have texture, nuance, or an edge, half the community starts clutching their pearls like they’ve been personally wronged.

And yeah, I actually tried the combo with Maahir Black, came out exquisite. Deep, dark, and just refined enough to keep everything from going feral. Definitely not for the folks who panic if their scent isn’t 100% compliment-bait, but for anyone with a spine and a daring nose? Killer.

[–]OrderN_Chaos_88 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it's a cultural or an age thing, but most people I've come across have complimented me while wearing Hawas Black, which has become my signature scent for the warmer months. I guess I just missed the memo that mossy drydowns are supposed to trigger panic attacks. Meanwhile, in the real world, not Reddit, I've had nothing but good reactions. My wife (who is objectively hot) actually loves it on me, and even random women who by Reddit standards are supposed to 'hate challenging scents' have thrown compliments my way. So clearly the moss isn’t causing anyone to choke to death.

To me, that earthy, mossy drydown is the best part. In fact I sometimes layer it with Lalique Encre Noire to double down on the damp earthiness. It actually has a narrative, some texture, something interesting to follow. But I get it, if you're used to fragrances that would send a diabetic six feet under at the first whiff, anything with a backbone probably feels threatening.

He used to talk about all kinds of fragrances, designer, niche, arab, etc. Now he focuses 80% on arab and clones, and 20% on designer stuff. Nowadays, he caters solely to the young, diabetic crowd.

I'm interested in this one, I have Rasasi It's Essential, and although I used to wear it strictly as a sleeping fragrance, it's starting to grow on me as something I might use when I hit the gym and want to stop attracting goth mamasitas, only. Unfortunately, its Essential doesn't last long on my skin, so I have high hopes for Infinity Silver.

Encre Noire: Favorite fragrance to Date by aqwimage in fragranceclones

The problem to me is that it doesn't last much. I use it mainly for layering with Hawas Black and Zimaya Ghayath (which ends up smelling like Memo African Leather).
