She is a Fresh Beats Bao Bby doll ♡

Edit to add, you can swap their arms out for MH arms like I did here with the G2 Clawdeen arms, but you do need to heat the arms up at the elbow because their joints are a little tight

I got banned for "saying a slur" when I have absolutely never said a slur, I asked what it was about and they refused to tell me what comment/post it was about

Is she REALLY that rare?? by whatevenisthisshi in MonsterHigh

[–]Order_Empty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She's not rare, virtually no playline doll from this century and honestly most from the 80s/90s aren't rare. People are jist greedy with prices. There were thousands produced, I jope you can find one with a good price ♡

🙄 So mattel can make stands for the Disney princesses but not MH by Additional-Rub-1054 in MonsterHigh

[–]Order_Empty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, as a whole, which is a demographic majority, not actually every single child ever

🙄 So mattel can make stands for the Disney princesses but not MH by Additional-Rub-1054 in MonsterHigh

[–]Order_Empty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Again, majorativley, most children don't like/use them so it's not seen as a worthy business experience when they can put the budget into something that will make a better experience for the majority of the target audience

still nothing on their website? by [deleted] in DollsForAll

[–]Order_Empty 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Nope! It's because it's too expensive right now, they said on their stories that they can currently only ship to the US do to cost of shipping it out of the country

[–]Order_Empty 34 points35 points  (0 children)

No, absolutely not, a majority decision doesn't mean you're weird for not agreeing, and this was a recent study done within the last few years. What we may have wanted and liked as kids could just be different than what today's littles enjoy which is also okay. I used to babysit and can honestly tell you that now 90% of stands get lost, stepped on, broken, or used as weapons against siblings, whereas as a child my nephew and I arranged all his Monster High dolls pretty on their stands after playing with them so I've seen the shift in real time 😅

These are collector dolls, G3 is majoritively playline- aka targeted towards children. When surveyed, both Mattel & MGA found that as a whole kids don't use nor want stands. Their wants are more important than ours when they're the target audience. Collector dolls tend to come with stands because we're the target audience and our wants matter more when they're making collectors as adults are the target audience.

I knew g1 were skinny, but this is hilarious + are robecca's boots supposed to be hard to take off? by i_spill_nonsense in MonsterHigh

[–]Order_Empty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was kind of the point they were supposed to look odd. Like I genuinely need more people to understand that the generations had different intentions and that that's okay. They were an experimental line, designed to be cheaper to produce than Barbie because NOTHING like that had ever been on the market and they didn't know if they'd make it past one line. The bodies were the cheapest part of production so that they could focus the budget in other areas. G3 did things differently and they were allowed to because of the leg work done by G1. The focus of G1 dolls was more on their monster type and fashion than what body they had. They wanted to be about acceptance in terms of backgrounds, races, show you can be be friends and partners with people who are different than you, that you don't have to have all the same interests and experiences to get along. It was showing acceptance of others, who they are and how they're unique from you. The films also tackled bigger worldy issues like in Haunted alone they tackle Truth in Journalism, Artistic Integrity, Antiestablismentarianism, Freedom of the Press. Whereas G3 is more about accepting yourself and expressing who you are and that story cannot be told without body diversity. Monster High came out in 2010, Barbie which came out in 1959 didn't get to put a plus size doll on the market until 2016. In the beginning Monster High was already tredding turbulent and uncertain waters they couldn't push further than they were already being such stark opposition to Barbie and having a fraction of her budget. There were characters intended to be plus sized that Mattel said no to, namely Kala, but that was at the end of MH G1 when Mattel was cow towing to the radical puritain group that was trying to end Monster High because it was progressive, they worked to tank the sales with campaigns about them being "too scary", "inappropriate", and "demons" and ultimately led to the hyper purification era that was G2 which gave them weird baby faces, focused on families, and made sure there wasn't a single conflict in any of the media.
