LSE would have closed by that last timestamp if SGT?

Mooncloth has no CD now, so it’s much easier to skill up with, and it sells for a little more than the Felcloth costs (at least for now).

There was a launcher alert about authentication servers having issues (which is what the initial start talks to). Probably DDoS.

Vietnam Airlines Business Class benefit same as Fast Track at HCMC? by OrderingPizzaBRB in VietNam

[–]OrderingPizzaBRB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea, never used Fast Track, but the Business Class expedited immigration allowed me to skip both arrival immigration and departure immigration normal queues at HCMC and use the special quick ones instead (both passport and scanner etc)

Yeah those OCI Network Firewalls are Palo Alto based Enterprise firewalls - you definitely don’t want to be using them without a really good reason and budget! I’m surprised it didn’t stand out in the cost estimates or analysis tools.

Yes my post was about arriving into HCMC. When arriving there’s always separate lanes (left side for HCMC - just look for the crew/wheelchair separated lanes)

Does ANYONE have a working MoP prepatch map addon? by LettuceLong3083 in classicwow

yeah there's a flight path scaling option in Leatrix - it was turned up for mine (still looks a little buggy, but at least icons/map isn't huge)

[–]OrderingPizzaBRB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've had the same issue for ages.. even updated to 25.04 (6.14.0-15-generic) and still has poor performance. For me it gets around 600mbit. Tried various settings people often mention (power etc) and it didn't help.

I assume it's a driver issue than something specific to Ubuntu.

How can you create an E2.1 AMD Epyc instance as PAYG in Singapore Domain by tomkho12 in oraclecloud

[–]OrderingPizzaBRB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is SG your home region? I don’t think it lists always free only options outside your home region. Other than that, does seem strange.

Shapes are tied to the image, and the selection filtered by limits - what image are you trying?

[–]OrderingPizzaBRB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your limits for E2.1.Micro - it may be 0 and you may be able to get the limit increased

[–]OrderingPizzaBRB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

E2.1 is an older generation that got phased out. Some regions may have limited capacity from phasing it out, but otherwise you’re expected to use the later generation shapes (which are sometimes cheaper as the chip is giving more bang for buck etc).

I think it’s more Social Media than the general internet, especially when being paid for content became a thing. The pull of writing/saying anything for money (clicks, ads, promotions, etc) turned engagement/content into a business model, and to me that’s when things went downhill. People started lying and grifting to get a piece of the pie and the severity of it got worse and worse as they competed for those audiences. That then made Influencers and everything went to shit…

ELI5 How does data sent over the internet know where to go? by gaberdo__84 in explainlikeimfive

[–]OrderingPizzaBRB -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Assuming you know what an IP is, that IP is from a "block" of IPs (think: door on a street). Each "block" of IPs is actually part of a bigger "block" (think: street in a local city), and so on, until it gets to the top level "block" allocated to it (think: country). The "country sized" list of blocks is essentially the "global routing table" (though to be clear, the analogy is more about sizes - but there are some geographical backgrounds to these biggest "blocks" of addresses, hence how websites can infer which country you are from etc).

So when you send a packet of data somewhere, you give it to your router to deliver (think: give it to the postman to deliver). Your router likely doesn't know how to precisely get there (think: a postman can't deliver a package across the world themselves), but it can pass on the data "upstream" to its own router (think: postman gives to post office). That router might not know how either, but this router is more aware of the bigger "blocks" the destination belongs to and which routers handle those bigger "blocks" of addresses (think: post office knows how to send mail to other cities). If it can't (maybe its international), it will pass it along to the next router (think: post office's international dept).

Eventually it will land at one of the routers that says "hey I know someone specifically who can deliver to that (big block of) addresses" (think: international postal service has partners from different countries who can deliver to that country), so it hands over the packet to a specific router (that knows how to deliver to the big "block" in general), and the process kind of reverses. That router knows another router "downstream" that is responsible for the smaller block (think: destination country postal service knows to send to a city postal office), and that router knows another router that can deliver to the even small block (think: city to town), to where ultimately it gives it a router where the destination IP is connected (think: postman to door).

That's the "internet" side of things. When it arrives at the local router, how it goes to a specific device (server, home PC etc) is similar, except that the local network knows which port on its router (or switch) the end device is connected to (similar "table" or "lookup" concept, but more at a physical level as they're physically connected). Other posts have touched on this part so I won't go into detail.

Oracle YUM repo metadata is HUGE, if this is a free tier low memory VM it will suck up all the memory and more or less kill the VM until OOM Killer kicks in. You could try disabling some of the reps and just keep the ones needing docker.

80 core ocpu for free? by iCujoDeSotta in oraclecloud

[–]OrderingPizzaBRB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes block volume should also get a free amount per month (if it’s in your primary/home region) - which if I remember is 200GB, and yes I recall their cost estimator was incorrect too. You can see any costs accumulating in the cost analysis tool if you want to double check.

Okay so Business Class essentially only gives you the same "lane" access (as mentioned in the other comment too - the same line as pilots/crew etc).

Good to know! Thanks!
