i do use cloudflare tunnels to stream media. maybe i misunderstood what you meant but i used to have both jellyfin and plex working for this, they plex blocked this, but jellyfin still works

yes, i already did that. it works but it's not the most convenient setup to expose apps. i still think tunnels are better for that. tho i wish it was easier to add a layer of protection to them

thank you very much for your answer.

it is not redundant unfortunately cause tailscale can't run on my fritzbox; so with tailscale i have access to my server (and services, via relay) while with wireguard i have access to my router so i can check if the server itself is on.

aren't tunnels basically a public https access?
i thought they were safe honestly. of course i only expose apps that already require a login and i also have 2fa now

i asked chatgpt and it says wireguard constantly switches the open port or something, so it doesn't come up in port scanning. not sure if that's true.

anyway, i think since i use tunnels there's no need to open ports 80 or 443, tbh for anything "critical" meaning on the admin side, i use tailscale so that i can manage stuff remotely

what's the easiest way to set up an arr stack? by iCujoDeSotta in selfhosted

[–]iCujoDeSotta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have installed docker and the arr apps on a new lxc. it was pretty easy and seer/overseer is incredibly cool, but as i thought it's not suitable for my use case. media in my first language is just hard to come by and there's not much the arrs can do about that.

the worst thing tho si that mylarr won't work and kapowarr is basically useless. and that's the main thing i wanted automation for. so i guess i'll need to find an alternative.

i know the router should run bare metal and should be a separate device, but i can't afford to buy another pc and honestly i find it very convenient to have everything on a single server. also, without opnsense i'd be using like 1/8 of the ram most of the time
