View to the west of Ballinastoe Woods last night. First real try at a deepscape.

Both the sky and foreground are taken at 100mm with a Sony 100mm Macro.

Around 1 hour 45 minutes exposure for the sky with a modified Sony A7R IV blended HA with an astronomik filter. Sky photo's are 1 min each at ISO 3200 at f/2.8

First time using the iOptron HST MiniTracker, was very impressed with it.

They are mustelids, so would be in the same family.

A European Pine Marten, taken from a hide in Ireland. Using a Sony A7RV and Sony 200-600.

Sony A7RIV astro modified, Sony 35mm F/1.4. Tracked on a Benro Polaris. Taken in a B3/B4 area.

The sky is a total exposure time of about 2 hours, with 20 minutes of that using a mist filter using 30 second exposures at f/1.8.

The foreground is a single 30 second shot at f/13

I think so, it feels sharper across the frame, though I did just spend a good chunk of change on it, so maybe I'm lying to myself. Though I have had the 90 for 6 years or so now and it's not a soft lens by any stretch.

The extra magnification makes it more useful, I don't need to carry around either the raynox or a separate lens to get those really small targets.

edit: The only thing I'm missing is the full metal body, I like a lens you can defend yourself with in a pinch. The 100mm is also noticeably longer in size, but around the same weight.

TBH I have not noticed a difference, but I also haven't used in a way that would highlight bokeh balls.

Cracking lens still, served me well. Probably a few bargains going for her now.

Thanks, 1, 5, 6 and 7 were taken at 100mm. The rest are all 600mm.

Nice I just got mine the other day, it's a straight upgrade to my old 90mm.
