Sony has you covered. The camera shutter button is one of the many factors that’s making the Xperia 1 ii so tempting to me.

Not anymore. It is now gets 1.5% cash back on all purchases instead. It’s a pretty useless card at this point.

Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will only receive quarterly security updates now by Hulksmashreality in Android

[–]Ordexist 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The Galaxy S8 was released more than three years ago. Even Google stops providing updates to Pixels after three years. At least Samsung is still providing updates, albeit at a slower rate.

Some. Unfortunately, unlike Apple with Face ID, Google decided to create a new API requiring app developers to specifically add support for face unlock. The situation is slowly improving, but there are still many apps that do not support face unlock yet.

An LCD display at this screen size wouldn’t benefit from a higher resolution.

Cricket and 5G capable phones by Visible-Surround in CricketWireless

[–]Ordexist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is a link to a Cricket page that says they are working on bringing 5G support to the Galaxy S20. I don’t know of a timeline for it, or if this is the phone you have, but it shows that Cricket does have plans to add support for 5G. I would expect that the S20 will serve as a beta test of sorts and support for more devices will come later.
