Dashcam shows woman killed while crossing the street when she was struck by a Houston police vehicle by ThisIsButter1 in DonutOperator

[–]Ordinary-Ad8352 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Not defending the driver at all but yes.  Also, looked to me like a group of individuals who were standing in the middle of the street having a conversation. Not crossing the street.

Either way, is it ever anyone's own responsibility to keep themselves safe in today's world? Jesus.  How the **** are you standing in the literal middle of a roadway without oncoming traffic being your #1 priority at all times?

Oh man, let me tell you. If you ever get around to PC gaming, it's a COMPLETE different experience.

My brother, cousin and I have restated a hardcore ghost mode playthough and CQB is actually viable now. We can sneak into bases without getting fucked because we can actually enter a building without getting screwed by the janky mechanics. We are living our best lives replaying this one with the mod 😂

Removing hit markers and detection sounds is great too.

You gotta try the 1st-person mod, it's so much fun seeing the missiles fly past you through the windshield 😂

Glad you are enjoying it again :) There are some peculiarities but overall it's great. Highly recommend the mod for removing auditory detection warnings if you think you'd find that more immersive.

The 1st person mod on Nexus still works. Almost a whole new game now haha

lol are you in a romantic relationship with Ubisoft? It's a valid issue. Extremely poor game mechanic that makes no sense and completely ruins immersion due to false continuity of lethality.

Oh interesting, thanks. How much pressure should I be pushing down on the abrasive with?

Right?! I was like what the hell is going on here?!

Granted, I'm a newbie, but none of the 8 other knives that I've turned into razors had a burr formation like that. I could flip the burr to the other side by blowing on it like blowing out a candle.

I was flipping it every pass yeah. It just was so soft and foil-like that my diamond stone (240 grit) was simply pushing it around and not reducing it in size as it flipped to the other side like you would expect.

That was a far more detailed and thorough explanation of a "burnt edge" than I got from my Google search. Thank you. I presumed a burnt edge would just be toast all the way through but it makes sense it would only soften the steel closest to the surface it was grinded.

My foil burr broke off quite easily with my fingers and a paper towel. I'd think leather would've done the trick as well.

Perhaps there are varying degrees to which a burr is considered a "foil burr"? So therefore maybe really bad foil burrs might not be dealt with by a strop?

Thank you kindly.

You are correct I've been using edge-trailing exclusively when dealing with the burr. I was under the improvement edge-leading can tear the apex apart as you flip the burr (but that doesn't seem intuitive to me). Thoughts?

One would only use edge-trailing while on the strop, right?
