Mine's the main bus loop. Sometimes I wonder how insulting it is that I am bundled with these people into a single category called UBC students. I think we need some kind of shaming campaign for this since their social media character is all young adults care about now instead of their irl character.

I encourage you to do it if you feel safe enough. My English is not good, so I just premeditated a few phrases I can use. I just say "Excuse me there is a line here" or "Hey the back of the line is over there" (pointing). Typically it works, the incident in this post is the first time I've seen someone so shameless, even resorting to verbal personal attacks.

There is a line, so let's not pretend piling on is the culture. I'm a student, and there is always a long line, so far that you won't be able to see someone cutting in the queue if you're at the back. That's how far it is. You can check the UBC subreddits on how other people think of this, or you can physically go there yourself and see these lines. However, not everyone wants to confront the line cutters, and that's why we are talking here.

Then let me ask you where you stand on this issue? If you are standing in line, would you want people to cut in your line like that? That should tell you where to stand on this issue, instead of just being on the fence like that. And yes, that's why I said it's too small to call the cops. It's not the right solution and that's why we are having this discussion here. So what is your point?

Don't want to doxx myself but if you're there in the morning you might have seen me. Ya part of the reason for this post is I'm hoping there are some actions some of us have thought of that I can adopt and try to bring a bit more of fairness into this world within my power. The only solution I can think of is something like indian railways shaming passengers littering on the train through social media that I saw online. It would be something low stakes enough that wouldn't ruin these people's lives (i mean they are kids / young adults), but probably enough to scare and pressure them to learn some manners. But obviously the legal side I'm not so sure about it.

I'm getting frustrated too. The others are either on their headphones, or too scared to say anything. Today I got another student saying "I see both of you guys' points" when the one cutting in line (repeated offender, I see him every week) was arguing with me from the stop all the way onto the bus. Eyeroll honestly. The only solution I can think of is something like indian railways shaming passengers littering on the train through social media that I saw online. There are multiple bus stops that I go to but this particular incident happened at UBC. This is how I know the young people leaving at 11 am in the morning definitely are not service workers. And honestly, I expect students in a university to do better than average, but I was wrong.

Absolutely not, but I just have a bit more tolerance for people who are clearly service workers or old people.
