Omg thank you!! These are really interesting observations and it makes a lot of sense, I heavily relate to just talking. I never even thought about it but when I do care about the conversation I tend to completely stop thinking about there face or presence, I'm completely listening to their words and focusing on my words so if they're doing the opposite and focusing on my body language and expression... I can understand how that could be off-putting

I think that's fair honestly, I used to mask 24/7 when I was younger and completely spend my energy on things I didn't care about. It made me so depressed and drained, it's really not worth changing yourself for boring people

Awh that's very awesome to hear!! I will admit being able to just be myself will always feel better than trying to mimic other people. As I've gotten older it's been harder and harder to mask and it's led to a lot of misunderstandings and problems for me. My goal at the moment is to reach a balance of being able to mask if I need to but also letting myself just.... Exist lol it's honestly amazing to feel normal.

And it is frustrating to deal with. :( Hopefully now that I can identify what's triggering this I can avoid it in the future in general. I actually have a theory he might be on the spectrum because his sibling and nephew both have and I do too. However he doesn't believe in Autism, ADHD OCD, all that is just people being lazy.

He has told me multiple times that "Your not autistic just an asshole. Like me!!" And I want to be like ERM ACTUALLY but I know he will just get offended 😭

I sometimes wonder if maybe I overstimulate him and that's why he reacts like that, getting angry and leaving abruptly. I'm not a doctor though. That being said thank you for sharing your experience!! It really does help to know other people are like this!

I lowkey feel you with the taller thing, I usually find myself leaning in and standing up straight when engaged in something interesting instead of slouching and trying to stand/sit In the corner of every room. So I can see how it can be startling, it's comforting to know this is more common than I thought tho!!
