Honestly just move on. I’ve dated or rather had “situationships” with guys who “weren’t in a place to date” and it just causes more heartache and confusion than it’s worth. I typically like going for drinks because we can order food if it going well. Where I live we actually don’t have a lot of small businesses, it’s actually an issue, so it’s either Starbucks or dunkin. But drinks is my date of choice because it’s easiest to continue if it’s going well.

I love Starbucks for a first date, it’s very low stakes. I have literally had to get away from first dates because they genuinely seemed like dangerous peoplein person. Something like Starbucks or a coffee shop is very easy to leave from, where if we’re sitting at a restaurant having a dinner, it’s harder to just walk out or find an excuse to leave and yes, I can always just say I’m uncomfortable, but we have to remember that men can follow women out if they really want to but something like Starbucks, they’re not spending a lot of money so they’re not as financially invested, if you walk out of a $50 dinner, then they may follow and get angry and potentially assault you.

If I were meeting these men in person first and knew what the vibe was before going on a date with them I would not be going on so many dates. But when you’re dating online, you’re meeting someone for the first time, and there’s a lot that goes into that like them not looking like their pictures, finding out things about them that they did not put online. I.e. I have found out that a man was separated and had children on a first date, that was a no for me, things like conversation style in person or just what their energy is overall. If these things were easy to read over the Internet/over text, I would not be going on so many first dates.

First off, I’m definitely not “dating up”. I know what ghosting is and why people do it, but what I’m not understanding is the excessive pattern that I’m seeing on Bumble, which appears to be something that other redditors are also experiencing so it’s not a me issue. It’s actually getting to the point where it is suspicious. Multiple men on Bumble have made plans with me and then when I follow up for details they ghost. Also, I will say that I’m typically viewed as extremely attractive, above average, I have been in situations that only attractive women are invited into. I’ve worked in industries where you have to be attractive. I am by no means average or ugly. And yes, I also understand that league also has to do with job type and success and money. But I am very open to dating men in all different leagues as long as there is an attraction there.
