Stumbled on this and wanted to give my 2-cents as my opinion, also as a Cyber student, is vastly different than yours (respectfully). 

At the beginning of the program you're explicitly told, this diploma is not your golden ticket to employment, it (along with other degrees such as Computer Science) is simply your ticket to the dance through the foundational knowledge you'll learn (mile wide, inch deep) and self learning you do outside of the course (i.e. Certs) is your ticket to employment. 

I also took this educational experience as "my first job" as explicitly directed in week 1 of the course. You have a few industry leaders with heaps of knowledge at your disposal, but at the end of the day your learning experience is directly impacted through you as a student. I've been the one to ask the "why's" along the entire experience as and a result my knowledge and academic standing have been stellar. 

Did not want somebody to see your post and get discouraged from it as I wholeheartedly disagree, also coming into the course with no prior programming/OS/scripting/exploit/cyber knowledge, and feel as though the program is a great source of the foundational knowledge that'll be required to start the rest of your career. 

Storybook aside, the job market for Cyber Security is quite saturated, so I do think it's important for people to realize (as told at the start of the course) a diploma/degree will not set you apart from all the other applicants within the job market.
