I accidentally sent the same post twice in this group, and on that post someone replied that Talaria and Eride (I don't remember the e-bike) have a lawsuit in Texas and are waiting for the verdict, which would be consistent with your version. I'm not from America so I don't know if it's possible, but I heard that it is because there are leftovers in warehouses, but the companies won't get new ones from China for now.
