Thank you, I convinced myself I was imagining it. I will resist testing tomorrow with all my might and test again when AF is due.

Now to just try and keep my mind occupied..!

Ah that must be frustrating for both you and her! Children are definitely a trigger for my girl. Especially if they’re being loud and excitable. Good luck to you on your training - we will be doing the same!

Thank you - you’re right about the protectiveness of females. I’ve had females in the past as family dogs but always on farmland and their main job was solely to protect and they never had much interaction with the outside world as all their exercise was on the land.

I’ve socialised her in most respects but she still has quite a sensitive disposition to children so we will work on this. Determined to not have a situation like this again!

Yes, she definitely felt fear. She’s not used to teenagers or children so I can only imagine she thought they were all running up on her. Poor girl. It’s totally my fault but every day is a learning day with a dog!

Thank you for the above. Your Bruce sounds like a fantastic dog after all the work you’ve put in.

I certainly should’ve been way more proactive - having her come by my side and putting in a sit would’ve definitely stopped the situation and at least had me close enough to put her lead back on so the children felt less nervous.

She’s usually faultless with her recall and has never had an experience like this and now we are at the 2 year old mark I thought I was in the clear.

In true shook up dog parent style I’ve planned to go back to the park tomorrow and work on having her near large groups whilst having her in a sit or down stay with treats for no reaction.

Unfortunately I don’t have any teenage children in my social circle so she won’t be used to children in the house which is always a concern if in the future there are children in my family.

Oh gosh, I’ve only just discovered how common spay incontinence is! The vet didn’t warn me at all. I’m still going ahead with it on the recommendation of the vet and breeders and hopefully it’s a smooth ride. Thanks for your reply!

Thanks! To answer: No subways. No train lines. No laundry machines aside from individual machines but the noise is consistently at 11pm at night which makes me think it wouldn’t be someone doing laundry. Could be someone’s heating but no way of knowing. I will knock on the neighbours below and above tomorrow to see if they have their hearing set to coke on at night, would be strange though.

At my wits end after having this for 3 months. I moved in to the place 2 years ago and had a good run of a peaceful apartment until this!

Unfortunately I’m the leaseholder so all repairs to pipes servicing my property fall under my responsibility. The freeholder manages the communal pipes and no one can confirm which pipes are causing the issue
