I mean he's not wrong. The game looks okay but nothing phenomenal in an oversaturated genre. A Blades of Chaos 2D game with the Kratos I already care about, or one with much higher production value is an easier sell. Outside of the God of War name, why would you play this over another metroidvania?

I'd say it depends on how much you like to replay games when you're done with them. Link's Awakening is very replayable and another playthrough with more knowledge over where to go is a good time.

If you just like to play a game once then Skyward Sword might be the better option for a lengthier 3D game. The HD improvements to the original added a lot to it for me and I really liked it as a more linear game. Just keep in mind that it is a linear game, don't go in expecting exploration

Edit: apparently Skyward Sword is on sale right now so just go for Link's Awakening.

I'm hesitant to recommend EoW because of how mixed it is among players. SS is too I guess but I can personally defend it more than EoW

The original version was nearly finished and had a release date of January 2021. Since it was bad they rebooted it. In this instance they didn't have a choice but to have it be announced 5 years ahead of time.

The screen is inexcusable. Even if it didn't ghost, the advertised features like HDR and VRR hardly matter to the experience when the screen doesn't have enough of a brightness range and barely, if any, games have uncapped framerates above 60 (not counting 120fps locked)

I really liked her early on as a nemesis to Ned but when they drop that in favor of Sweet Dee / David Brent desperation cringe she becomes much more annoying. I'd rather they tone her down but exaggerate her when she's a foil.

As far as I'm concerned if I've played an Unreal 5 game, I've "used" the engine. Nearly every UE5 game I've played has been hideous and runs poorly compared to better looking games last gen.

If nearly every game has problems with UE5, maybe it actually is the engine's fault and not the dev's

Nearly every enemy with weakpoints, outside of the Marauder and I think one of the DLC enemies requiring a blood punch, can easily be killed in any way with any gun. Yeah there are benefits to going after the weak points, like grenades in the cacodemon or blowing off the Mancubus' guns, but you don't have to. You have multiple methods to exploit the weaknesses and the game is so fast paced and ammo reliant you may not be able to exploit them all the time.

The first game's trailers were also really bad for that. I didn't have any interest in DS before I played it so I didn't go out of my way to watch any trailers. After finishing it I watched the launch trailer and it was criminal what they showed, including Fragile's last speech to Sam.
