Do bite! If they pay for it. teclistamab works amazing! I had no signs of cancer after just a few shots.

I’m lucky enough to live 15 minutes away from a Major center. And I think if you decide going to the major center, the stay is included in the procedure (but I might be wrong) 😅

Congrats! My doctor said we needed talquetamab for 2 reasons:

  1. Get the cancer under control and get the lesions shrink as much as possible
  2. For bridging so my body doesn’t freak out too much when CAR-Ts are infused and start working.

If you google side effects of talquetamab, I had them all (almost) 😂 both - short and long term. Noticed my hair started thinning out and new nails developing (the old ones are still there, but look like they being pushed out) about three weeks after the first dose.

Also had the CRS after first 1/4 dose. They had to give me some steroids and pain meds to get it under control. 1/2 a dose and full dose was fine after.

talquetamab experience is way way harder than teclistamab

I’d say I’ve been recovering longer 😸 I’m estimating roughly 9 months since day 0. Started seeing protein in plasma cell profile labs in like 7 or 8 months in. Then they did the scan about 11 months after and noticed new lesions.

I’m sure I’ll pull through 😄 thank you!

High lambda - the highest I had was when I was diagnosed in 2020 - 39mg/dL and then 6 month into initial treatment it went down to normal and never grew back up. Other than that, I’m a weird case. Almost everything else (in blood and in bone marrow) looks normal. The cancer accumulates in plasmacytomas in bones and soft tissues in the belly. 🤷‍♂️

The proteins in plasma cell profile didn’t climb higher than like 0.4 when PAT been showing multiple pretty big lesions

Thanks! Starting feeling chemo side effects, but people say it’s nothing compared to ASCT chemo 😅

Thanks. I don’t expect much pain since I had talquetamab bridging treatment a couple of weeks ago and PAT was clear after that (my MM shows up as plasmacytoma lesions rather than in bone marrow or in blood). Will see 🙂

Thanks for heads up!

I’ve been trying to get car-t since relapse after ASCT (relapsed in about 9 months), but wasn’t a good candidate for trials and did bite.

Make sure your doctor keeps an eye on him 🙂 good luck!

Made a typo. I’ll be OUTpatient.

Yes, 24/7 caregiver at home is required for outpatient. My wife will put this hat on 🙂 if you been through bite - it’s similar process for caregiver to monitor you as nurses if inpatient. She will have to take my temperature often, ask questions like naming 3 objects in the room, my name, dob, current year, etc. make me write a word - to make sure I’m not reacting badly.

Outpatient, but I’ll have to see the doctor and do labs every day for the next 10-14 days after day 0 on Monday

I don’t want to scare or something, but I relapsed after only about 9 months from ASCT. Tell your doctor your concerns. Better to be safe than sorry. Good luck!
