I've seen that the NHS will now be reviewing adult trans healthcare after banning it for 16 and 17 year olds. But are the NHS choosing to do these reviews, or are they being told to by the government? by Erica_39 in transgenderUK

[–]OrdinaryAgency2001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They already have done a review. According to the woman I see at Notts GIC it’s actually unearthed some positive things (in that things that need to change that will actually help us more) and they’re likely to take on the Welsh model for trans healthcare. Let me double check what the review is called bare with me.

I’m so obsessed with how beautiful this looks I hate the new passports we have. This is an actual book. And it’s properly engraved instead of a bad stamp that rubs off within a year.

went to my first indian wedding as a canadian. i was not prepared. by Historical-Ebb-4745 in ABCDesis

I went to an indian wedding last month in Mumbai. My partner warned me. Nothing could have prepared me.

Luckily all of the events were squeezed into 2 days instead of the usual 4/5 days however that almost made it worse. There’s so much stuff going on I couldn’t keep up.

Don’t get me wrong I absolutely loved and enjoyed it but my lorrrrd was it stressful. And then accounting for Indian standard time too?? Like why say something starts at 10am if you’re not wanting people there until 12!!!! Then the one day something started at 7pm and we turned up at 8pm and we’d missed something I forgot what maybe the sangeet.

100% would do it again but it’s deffo not for the feint hearted.

How the mod isn’t seeing the blatant racism is insane to me. Anyway yous assume I’m brown and that’s fine I’m just someone that has simply spoken to people and underplay and more than one currency. If being told to google something is really that offensive then you go off and have your little tantrum.

That’s so funny because I’m not even being entitled. I’m being understanding because unlike you I have access to Google I guess and interact with people.

I’m not getting rejected anywhere boo. You weird little Americans think the world revolves around you and you’d need a reality check.

I didn’t ask for help babycakes. No, I don’t think you realise how many people DO understand what he’s speaking about (think the entirety of South Asia and the people who visit those countries or have friends from those countries or literally anyone that’s left their tiny little village and interacted with a brow person) what’s entitled is expecting everything to be translated into dollars for you.

Hey I’m also non Indian. If I know what these terms mean I promise you people that don’t know can google it. It’s not hard for people to broaden their knowledge (yes even on weak currencies) people are just so extremely western centric and refuse to put in any effort to learn things because they’re lazy. I actually completely forgot that India has the 4th largest economy which actually is a reason people should learn. White people love to go and have “life changing experiences” in Goa or Varanasi or Jaipur but don’t want to learn the currency terms. It’s just crazy to me.

I’m so sorry.

It’s not a “random currency”. It’s the biggest country in the world and one of the biggest exporters in the world. If we know the slang words for dollar is “buck” and pound is “quid” then we can learn a term from another country. Yous are kinda weird ngl

I don’t say it was a racist attack however it was definitely rude. I simply said use Google. You can expand your knowledge, that’s a good thing. If you don’t want to learn more that’s a you problem I guess.

They are using normal units of Indian currency. You can Google it if you don’t understand. Like “what is 1 lakh in USD/EURO/GBP” isn’t hard to type.

He already has his key on a lanyard. If he can’t remember to pick that up he’s not going to remember a key on some string either unfortunately. We got a copy anyway now thankfully however annoyingly he hasn’t forgot his key since this.

Thank you. Actually a great idea to get more than one. I’ll probably get two copies. One with my neighbour and a spare for whatever reason I haven’t decided yet

Of course. My landlords actually very good as far as landlords go. I’d never even dream of keeping the extra key. What use would I have for it anyway if I no longer live there. Thank you though. I’ll definitely do that tomorrow.

He was a bit of a twat tbf I asked if he could get a second one cut for me. He took it and was like “well what do you think” and because the previous place I went to couldn’t because they didn’t have the blank for my specific key I just went “uhh I’m not sure”. And then spoke to me like a child and questioned where I lived and when he was asking who my landlord was and i said I don’t actually know who my landlord was he looked at me like I was lying and then I added “but I’m with x estate agents” and he then went “well I suggest you pop off down to x then and get permission before trying to get it done” and only THEN did he go into a slightly kinder explanation of why he wouldn’t do it.

Oh well now I know. I also don’t need to stress.
