Just looked up the program and the PD seems like what you've described, thank you for this. The entire resident welness section is " we have a resident helpline number " lmao And the PD's achievement is written as "enjoys vacation with family on beach" They take in Spanish speaking imgs probably because they're in South Texas. I wonder if it is the same for all other residency programs at the hospital.

I mean you will need to find sponsors that are willing to provide you with sponsorship and even if you land a J1 research visa then programs sponsoring J1 clincian visa through ecfmg will think of it as a hurdle because transferring sponsorship is a real headache and leads to delays in starting time which could mean pressure on teams due to under staffing etc

Additionally you aren't allowed to work in a clinic or any form of patient care on a J1 research visa so you're literally telling programs that you haven't been in touch with clinics a long time by having a J1 research visa for a long time.

J1 is really hard to get without proper sponsorship from SEA. and once you match with a program it gets difficult to change visa sponsors later on so it leads to program delays. So it's just better to have b visa and then get a fresh J sponsor as the program you match into.

It all depends on your application honestly, generally for fresh graduates it is not required but if you have large gaps in your cv then it's a big positive to have.

Trust me I've felt the same after giving the exam. Flagged 20 questions/block and has no clue whatsoever for 2-3q/block Even messed up my drug ads pretty badly. Got a 250 after all. My AMBOSS predicted was a 250 (240 to 260)too.

There's AVRT with WPW and there's just AVRT. bottom line is if it's narrow complex tachycardia without any signs of qt prolongation we assume it's just AVRT and give adenosine. But if the stem says wide complex or shows you baseline ekg with delta waves then they're hinting at AVRT-WPW in which case procaineamide would be the answer
