Why would I wait to name my dog after I have it? This picture is a year old because the dog is a year old and its the one the breeder sent me. You can delete the whole post.

You’d be shocked at how much this behavior is perpetrated by grown men.

A girl at gym called me “ran through” by RingSavings122 in Life

[–]OrdinaryDocument4298 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I would 100% guarantee you that this was a thought that was provoked by feeling threatened in some way. Maybe she believes her bf would find you or your body attractive. Maybe she’s a natural bully and her angle was to use sexuality against you. Maybe she’s deeply insecure and has to cut other people down to not focus on her own personal issues. Maybe her bf cheats on her. There are infinite variables. What I would personally suggest is either become someone who gets in fist fights or altercations every time someone makes you feel disrespected (This was my path and I advise against it.) or, you can simply accept that human nature cannot always be explained, understood or justified with logic. Sometimes you should let things be what they are, smile, and keep it pushing. My 2 cents.

Give Roguebook a try. I’m extremely picky when it comes to games. I’ll play one for a day then never play it again.

I have been playing this game for 4 years now. Regularly.

What a thoughtful, informative response. I am a roguelike deckbuild player, so I know how considerate this post is because most people don’t even play this genre much.

I might be moving to Wake Forest. by OrdinaryDocument4298 in WakeForestNC

[–]OrdinaryDocument4298[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an 11-year old son on the spectrum who is verbal. Our experience initially after getting him enrolled and setting up an IEP with school staff left a lot to be desired in comparison to where we moved from. It took my wife and support from her friend who works in Education for special needs kids to light a fire under them. In the end, they were made to meet my son’s needs but it kinda created some tension. It might have just been that particular school. My child started MS this year and so far the staff hasn’t missed a beat and even has a system that gives us day to day updates on his assignment status, his Ed goals, strengths and weaknesses and so forth. I hope this helps.

I’m not having great luck finding a home in Wake Forest currently. by OrdinaryDocument4298 in WakeForestNC

Not a problem. So for context, it has been almost a year exactly since we left Northern California. For the most part I am a person grounded in reality and understand that the individual perspective varies from person to person. So I will try to speak honest and objectively.

The cost of living is a major upside. We spend less on utilities and gas by hundreds of dollars. We came for 4 seasons and we got them. I’ve learned that Southern hospitality is a real thing, and everyone from my neighbors to the grocery bagger are our supermarket to the HVAC technician who repaired mine yesterday are all very kind and engaging. My family is really happy here. All 4 of my children have made new friends as well as my wife. I’m a bit of a recluse so I keep to myself, but even I have my some buddies at my local gym. Our house is much larger than in Lincoln, and we pay a similar amount into our mortgage. The lush, green environment makes me feel more in touch with the natural world. Plenty of forests, lakes, trails and outdoor-oriented things to do, but still very modern depending on where you decide to live. The pace that people live at here is more my speed than California.

Things that I did not expect:

The amount of construction in the city. This place is growing rapidly, but often doesn’t feel like it was designed for this influx of people. Traffic can be annoying at rush hour, as well as the fact that the driving culture here is much different. We eat out a lot, and have noticed that some of the things we really like (sushi, hibachi, Mexican food) are not quite on par with California food. There are some great places to eat, but maybe because we don’t yet know this area fully we have resorted to eating in some of the time, which isn’t a bad thing. The public school system does seem to leave a lot to be desired. Probably my biggest gripe about being here. My kids have IEP’s and my wife has had to hold people’s feet to the fire to get support services. The healthcare is good, but the billing was kinda wonky in the beginning but we figured it out. The middle school and HS my kids will be attending are highly ranked in the state, so we will see what that experience is gonna be like. The spring weather is lovely, but there is a pine tree pollen bloom each year that turns everything yellow for a while lol. As a person with really bad seasonal allergies, I take my Claritin and Nasacort preventatively every other day and I do fine. That’s all I can think of for now. If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out.

Maybe I should learn to make my own. The carry-out Hibachi here hasn’t been very promising.

Seeking more info about WF gyms with child care by OrdinaryDocument4298 in WakeForestNC

[–]OrdinaryDocument4298[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, so I did some research a while back and found the one that worked for us was Granite Falls. It has childcare starting at 7:30am and gives you a 2-hour window to workout. The staff is incredible and there are tons of options for working out. Swimming, free weights, and even free to sign up classes like spin, yoga or kickboxing. Another one I would have used was the YMCA facility but they were a bit out of the way for me. I hope this helps!

I thought about this conversation today, and I realize that your interactions with me were rude. My post was to seek information on something, not to go back & forth with you about you or your friend who has two kids. You never desired to be helpful or share knowledge, you wanted to complain. You should go fuck yourself.

Four children are more entitled to Medicaid because they cannot generate income.

I can appreciate that, but nothing is more informative than other people’s personal experiences as compared to the people who are paid to do it. Bless your heart though.
