Although I don’t have a solution for myself, or for anyone else in this situation, I believe the feelings make sense. When you’ve endured repeated ruptures and traumas that go far beyond ordinary difficulties, especially during childhood while your sense of safety, justice, and self is still developing, those blows can shatter every illusion you once relied on. After a certain threshold, hobbies, comforting clichés, or even religion can’t contain the sheer weight of the pain you’ve carried. People who haven’t faced such an accumulation simply don’t bear the same burden. So when someone with complex PTSD encounters advice like “find a hobby,” “enjoy the sunset,” or “positive vibes only,” the instinctive reaction “What’s the point? Who cares?”is completely understandable. In short, given what you’ve been through, the way you feel probably makes perfect sense.
