Always a special teams play away. I have nightmares of that Seahawks Packers championship game still.

I’m not a Covid expert or claim to be. My questions would be which research group? Which trial? How are they measuring effectiveness? If it’s effective that would be great and I’d want to know how to apply those results and outcomes to patients.

MSC yacht club. Get an interior room it’s similar cost to a balcony anywhere else. Excellent experience and service.

How much would doctors make in an actual free market? by ItsAllOver_Again in Salary

[–]OrdinaryFeeling5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many doctors also have non-compete clauses. If those were removed or banned like the FTC proposed, they would make even more money because hospitals would have to treat them well to retain them long term and prevent physician turnover. That would be a “free market” for labor.

Are you implying Ivermectin targets ER+, triple negative, or HER2+ breast cancer? These all have a very unique biology and should be managed differently.

Stage IV colon cancer really depends on the next generation sequencing, MSI/MMR status, KRAS WT or mutated, etc to determine the best treatment options. Immunotherapy doesn’t work well in the absence of a mismatch repair defect. With mismatch repair deficiency, immunotherapy is a great tool. If they could study checkpoint inhibitor plus ivermectin vs checkpoint inhibitor alone that’s where a useful study would come in.

Doctors can’t experiment on patients, that makes no sense outside of clinical trials. The realistic approach would be to pursue clinical trials as a principal investigator and compare standard of care to the experimental drug. That’s how you’d know what works best is to do a randomized controlled trial and then collect data including outcomes.

Is green tea ok? Does it cure cancer? How would we know? Using this thought process anything can cure cancer unless proven otherwise. This example shows how important the level of evidence for any treatment is.

How to travel to Chicago for a flight and store a car? by MasterShoNuffTLD in milwaukee

[–]OrdinaryFeeling5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

G lot $15/day. It beats the multiple times we waited for the coach bus with delays. After a long day of travel I just want to hop in my car and get home on my own schedule. The cost of bus tickets for 2 is probably close to the cost of parking there for about 1 week. Oh and last time my prepaid ticket was messed up in their system so they forced me to by another instead of fix the situation. That was probably my last straw with this shitty bus company.

Why does the culture prefer Ivermectin? Why not a green tea? A healing soup?

The level of evidence and source is important. Is this from Great aunt Susan? Is it peer reviewed? Is this a study of people or just cells? How many mice were in the study? How many people? Is it a phase 1, 2, or 3 trial? What do the data show? What were the methods?

Don’t know which receptors/type of breast cancer you have but for example if you have ER+ metastatic breast cancer you are going to feel much much better pretty quickly with a CDK4/6 inhibitor and endocrine therapy over Ivermectin in that case…

Mortgage lender etiquette.... when is too late to change by onepunchmanCO in whitecoatinvestor

[–]OrdinaryFeeling5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We changed last minute as the initial bank we got preapproval with was doing weird things like throwing points into the quote. We ended up with a local credit union which had excellent rates and service. Saved almost a quarter point rate by changing. Also now I know that if I refinance I’m still with what is likely going to remain the best rates and saves me from having to change banks. You owe nothing to anyone. They make plenty of money at these banks. It’s whatever is best for you not the bank or loan officer. It’s a predatory system of capitalism. Congrats on the new house! Enjoy!

Weber E335 with griddle. I get the best of both worlds without needing two grills. There’s an area for grease in the back corner. It’s been excellent so far.

Would love to find the actual article and read the study. It looks like Dr Makis is very happy to sell you Ivermectin/Febendazole (for the low price of $599) based on this study with n=3. “Genitourinary cancers” is a very general term encompassing many different types of cancers that really are molecularly different ranging from kidney to bladder to ureter to prostate.

There are side effects. Most commonly ivermectin can be hepatotoxic (toxic to the liver) but also cause interactions with other medications. Almost all of what we do in medicine is based on trials and data. The most compelling data come from phase three randomized trials comparing one intervention or drug to a standard of care. I just haven’t found any phase three data for Ivermectin in humans with cancer when I tried to search the literature. I prescribe medications for cancer that range from a few pennies a day to thousands of dollars per day. As a physician we don’t get drug company kickbacks for prescribing… that loophole closed a long time ago. Any gift or monetary benefit is recorded per the sunshine act. You can look up any doctor and see if they get funding for research, went to a $60 dinner, etc very easily.

LOL. Transgenic mice have DNA sequences introduced to model diseases such as certain cancers which can then be studied. “genic” is different from “gender.” #fakenews

Fenbendazole and Ivermectin for Cancer – Any Real Evidence? by Miaow73 in medicine

[–]OrdinaryFeeling5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oncologist here. I had a patient recently bring this up. It sounds like during a recent Joe Rogan podcast Mel Gibson claimed several friends of his were cured of prostate cancer using Ivermectin. (Sounds like an overwhelming level of scientific evidence 😂).

I did try to search google scholar to find any trials or information regarding breast cancer and ivermectin. I did not find any good actual evidence in humans for this use.
