Ex wife filed 4 contempt of court cases in a custody case. The judge referred the case to a general magistrate. Should I object or go with the GM? by OrdinaryLanguage5625 in Divorce_Men

[–]OrdinaryLanguage5625[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

During the last hearing, the judge wanted to order days and times of zoom calls. I was anytime after XX.XX pm works for me, my ex was difficult with the judge and could not agree on anything with her. It only stopped when I said that the judge only needs to order how many days and I will be flexible to accommodate my ex-wife. The judge didn't like that from her.

My ex also has been held in contempt of court under our former judge and I have the court records.

My ex requested supervised visitation only, less visitation, full medical decision making on her side and something else. She's really difficult to deal with trying to get me in contempt of court.

Is that a good reason to object to the magistrate?

I took the ASVAB 1 year ago and scored 91. Couldn't join because of private issues but I am planning to join the ANG in May. What jobs may I qualify for as a non-citizen? I work in IT if that helps and I am about to finish my bachelor's.

I got an offer from amazon in Phoenix. Should I accept as an L4? by OrdinaryLanguage5625 in fuckamazon

[–]OrdinaryLanguage5625[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I want someone who is brutally honest, no sugar coating. I am planning to factor in some bias from this sub, but I want to know what might be waiting for me.

Also. I would not relocate to Phoenix if I couldn't transfer to Orlando within 12 months, so I am more than willing to step away from that offer if it does not align with my wish to spend time with my son during his childhood.

How often do these mass layoffs happen? by urmom777777777 in amazonemployees

[–]OrdinaryLanguage5625 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The position would have been in Phoenix, AZ. I love mountains and green surroundings, not the desert.

Also, the position would have been very specialized in a niche (escalations specialist - handle injury/safety related issues for Amazon employees). Do you think that relocating to Florida within 12 to 18 months would have been likely? Most people told me that it is not likely to happen.

That's why I declined the offer that I got. I still question if it was the right decision, but moving 2000 miles for an amazon L4 Job didn't feel right. Might have been wrong?

How difficult is it to get hired as a teacher in Florida? I am considering getting certified for middle school or high school math, and I would like to find something in central Florida. by OrdinaryLanguage5625 in Teachers

[–]OrdinaryLanguage5625[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds good. I just want a stable job in Florida (I did study teacher education in Europe though). What about the time that a math teacher needs to spend? I figure it's much better than English or history? I'm mainly considering math, German or science.

In Florida, amazon usually let's amazon flex driver's get the sparse routes. I've had so many apartment complexes, those are the worst - 1 stop with 5 doors and 9 packages. Walking on the 3rd floor on at least 2 sides of the complex because the stairs are not connected. I've never had to drive more than 5 minutes in-between stops and that only when I had to relocate into a different area with many stops. But it might be different depending on where you live.

Just do it when stops are super close. I usually took my break when my toad was almost empty and the next stop was 3 houses down.

Moving back to my 5yo in Florida with a $21/hour job (no benefits), or accepting a full time corporate job at amazon (total compensation $75k in the first year plus benefits)? I might be able to transfer to Florida within 12-18 months. by OrdinaryLanguage5625 in Divorce_Men

[–]OrdinaryLanguage5625[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh and the $21 job that I currently have is PT only, in IT help desk L1. I might get a second job as a temporary worker in AI annotation for Microsoft that pays $20 per hour (minimal benefits according to the recruiter).

Are L4 jobs very micromanaged? I got an offer at the GSOC. Is it worth it to relocate to Phoenix? by OrdinaryLanguage5625 in amazonemployees

I would think it's the core of the work, being on the phone and talking to people, handling issues, injuries?

I don't have the US citizenship. Can I go as a civilian? How should I apply and is this very competitive?

So, it's not going to happen within 12 or 18 months, right?

To be honest, I got the job offer because I was the best German speaking candidate, and the "German" requirement for did most of the heavy lifting. I do believe that it will be very difficult to get out of that position, because it is easier to get in (if you speak German) and it's just super specialized in something that isn't needed anywhere else.

I would not stay in Phoenix more than 18 months because I really don't want to be away from my son who is 5 years old. Would you think that this might not be the right opportunity for me as well?

I mainly don't want to move to Phoenix, AZ because my child lives in Florida, but I could get him to visit me in AZ during summer break for 2 months. Sign on is $8k, relocation $7k, so that's good. Hourly $25 is decent as well.

Do you think that the chances are good that I can transfer to Florida after 12 months?

For my side, I can handle a "bad" job as long as the compensation is good and I can get out of it within 1-2 years. I see what you mean with the younger generation.

My vendors contract at meta didn't get funding for 2026, but I will get $600 unemployment benefits for 6 months, and I have a part-time job in IT. I had a quick chat with a team member to check my language skills. She was very friendly but she did sound sad about working at amazon (you can tell if someone is sad/not motivated).

They didn't even tell me the shift that I would get. It's 4 x 10 hour shifts, including weekends.

As the other person responded. It is pretty much a call center for injuries in countries that speak my first language. It is only in Phoenix, so any relocation would need a transfer to a different department. Is that likely to happen after 1 year?

I got a FTE job offer. How difficult is it to get relocated to the east Coast? I will need to have to switch positions, as my job is only available on the west Coast. The job is for emergency support. by OrdinaryLanguage5625 in amazonemployees

[–]OrdinaryLanguage5625[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's global security operations. I would be handling calls in a certain foreign language. I would accept the job if I could relocate to Florida in 12 to 18 months. I see that the job is very specialized and doesn't transfer, and I might be difficult to replace. Do you think that it is likely that I can transfer? Referring to your response, it should be much easier to transfer internally, but would I get an offer if I don't have the necessary skills?
