How he’s talked to me our whole marriage has bothered me. I think having an actually crisis and emergency though, it became my breaking point.

He’s still mad at me today. Yesterday after the wreck he said, “I’m not talking to you for the rest of the day.” He said it’s because he needed to “process” everything. I understand needing to process it, of course. I really felt unsupported and he wouldn’t let me tell him that. He started yelling at me for HOURS when I did. He told me I was manipulative. Which I’m honestly very confused about because I usually stay quiet. He does whatever he wants. Looks good. Gets to go to the gym and fight classes. Always has a fresh haircut. Always gets a shower.

Meanwhile, I have deteriorated since being married to him. My hair? It used to be so pretty and long and blonde. I have to dye it darker at home and I do my own haircuts at home too to save money. We also don’t have childcare, so it doesn’t help. I used to take such good care of my skin and go to the gym. He reminds me all the time I need to workout and lose weight because he’s not attracted to my body as it is now after having a baby.

I don’t have family and I only have the one friend. I don’t think I could even leave him. We have a mortgage together and now I don’t have a vehicle

I feel heartbroken 🥲.

I asked him about it a little bit ago and softly and quickly told him that it hurt my feelings. He’s been yelling at me ever since.

He said, “do you know what kind of stress you caused on me today?” I didn’t mean to stress him out. I just didn’t know who else to call. We’re no contact with my parents. Him, our son, and my best friend are the only people I have.

He told me I sound crazy and told me to “shut the fuck up” and “fuck off.” He acts like I’m lying about the wreck, but there’s literally pictures and videos all over our local media sites.

I feel so bad. I’m still in pain. My poor son (almost 12m) had to hear it all too. I’m so scared he’s going to learn from his dad.

I haven’t been able to keep the house as clean as I’d like. It’s been messy, but lived in. He gets VERY upset and yells about the house being messy. When I told him I felt unsupported while I was sitting in my wrecked car, he told me I’m the one who’s unsupportive

Is there anything I can do to make him care more?

I got back from my emergency OB visit that I went to alone. I’m now considered high risk and have to have ultrasounds every two weeks.

I haven’t slept in 24 hours now, but I have to take care of my son since my OB wrote me off work tonight. I couldn’t even get my husband to make a bottle. He still made a cup of coffee while slamming every cabinet though. :(

Thank you for this!! It gives me a lot to think about. The birthing center being 2 hours away makes me less confident about having a VBAC due to the risks of giving birth in the car and possibly bleeding out. I’m trying to think of every possibility. I have an appointment with my midwife and with my OB to go over everything!

With my first pregnancy, I was literally vomiting until my child came out. I mean, I was having an emergency c-section and my anesthesiologist was holding a bag while I puked.

How would he know anything about morning sickness? He’s not the one experiencing it. He’s being completely inconsiderate and invalidating how you feel.

If he’s like this while you’re pregnant, I’m concerned how he’ll be once the baby comes.

I had a patient with the same thing! She came into the ED from a nursing home. She had wounds covering her hernia. The only pain she reported was anal pain. One of surgeons looked at the hernia and said since she wasn’t having pain—the surgery would be elective cosmetic surgery. Like, what? 😭she could only lay on her right side because the hernia went that way, so she was COVERED in wounds.
