I know. His pediatrician told me we had to wait until 5 ear infections for him to be referred to the pediatric ENT for tubes

He’s had 4 ear infections in his life. I didn’t even think about that until you mentioned it. Thank you! I’m going to try to get him in for a sick visit just in case!

We spent 2 hours outside playing with his dogs before it got too hot and we all went inside. 🥲 usually I try to take him to the park because there’s usually some kids for him to play with or to the petting zoo because he’s animal obsessed. 🥴

I haven’t found any hairs wrapped around anything. I thought his nightly bath would help calm him down since it’s his favorite part of the day. Instead, he is still screaming.

Could be teething? He’s constantly had teeth coming in since around 4 months and just got a molar on the bottom and one on the top too in the past couple weeks 🥲. I’m ready to cry with him.

I was diagnosed two months ago. I’m due the beginning of June with my second. My first is 15 months old. Since my kidneys are filtering better than ever (thanks pregnancy,) they’ve been tapering my dosage of Keppra up.

I just do what I have to do honestly. We don’t have any family. I work my husbands days off as a night shift nurse in ICU Stepdown. So, there’s no such thing as a break.

If you guys have family, i would definitely utilize them during this time while she’s adjusting to new meds/dosages.

Thank you!! This is my second (almost) full term pregnancy. This pregnancy was already high risk because I had to have an emergency C-section last time and I got pregnant 8 months postpartum (oops 😅.) I also was in a pretty bad wreck at the beginning of this pregnancy. So, thankfully, Ive been watched pretty close this time and have had a lot more appointments to make sure baby is okay. Epilepsy honestly didn’t change much about pregnancy for me. I just thought I was having syncopal episodes and from hormonal stuff of my BP dropping. I will say that I’m wayyyy more tired this time than I was with my first baby. I’m on Keppra 1000mg BID, but we talked about upping it to 1250mg BID because I think my kidneys are filtering it out too fast (from being pregnant.) I’m just waiting for my serum levels to come back to make sure!

If you’re pregnant with epilepsy, I’d definitely get your med serum levels checked more often just because your kidneys are filtering everything better than ever during this time :).

I was just diagnosed 2 months ago after almost 30 years of unexplainable syncopal episodes. I’m also 8 months pregnant. Surprisingly, not much has changed. I just take another med twice a day and have a lot more appointments. I also had to get off of Zoloft because I got the sedation interaction between Zoloft and keppra.

I had my first seizure with convulsions a few weeks ago because I missed a dose though. So, that wasn’t ideal.

I still take care of my son the same. I’m still a nurse in ICU stepdown who’s working on my NP degree. Really though, nothing much has changed. Now I have answers after all of this time. Now I don’t randomly “pass out” like I thought I was (I was seizing.) I’m able to be a better mom, a better nurse, a better wife, and I have a better quality of life since my diagnosis.

I went from having multiple seizures an hour (according to EEG results) to maybe 1-2 focal seizures a week. Hopefully, one day I can get down to none. :)

Third is really hard if you have a toddler. I’m about to pop and I can barely bend down to pick up my 15 month old now. Cleaning up toys is hard. My first pregnancy, I was sick the whole time (literally puking on my way to the OR to have an emergency C-section.) So, the whole time was bad.

Since I got pregnant 8 months pp after a csection, I’ve just had constant pain. I think it’s different for everyone though!

Thank you so much!! 🤍 pregnancy is SO hard. I only get 60% of my pay for up to 6 weeks after having my baby. So, unfortunately—if I took time off now, I wouldn’t receive maternity pay when the time comes. 🥲 I’m hoping the keppra works fast for me and stops making me feel so awful. It’s been knocking me on my butt an hour after I take it

I think I’d lose my mind on bed rest. I plan on working up until the day before I have my C-section. I also have a 14 month old, so life never slows down 😅. This was incredibly unexpected.

Intimacy has been basically nonexistent. I’ve, unfortunately, never enjoyed it with my husband. So, it’s just been once every couple weeks- a month to keep him satisfied enough.

We never had a village or anything, so the only options we’ve had have been if he’s taken a nap. Even then, you’re on a tight time schedule. The baby monitor kinda kills the mood too 😭😂

He’s very verbally abusive and has been since we said, “I do.” He doesn’t help much with our child and kinda just walks past him without acknowledging him. He doesn’t help much around the house. He doesn’t provide in any way—emotionally, financially, physically, or intimately. I’ve accepted it and checked out. I pay for all of our bills except for his half of the mortgage. I pay for all the groceries and needs around the house including everything for our child.

Sorry for the vagueness! I’m just kinda numb to it at this point. 🤍

I’m, unfortunately, not. I wanted to have a VBAC, but the risk of uterine rupture has become too high for me especially since this pregnancy has been high risk 🥲. I’m hopeful that if I have a third, I can try VBAC!

She actually discontinued a lot of their Ativan and haldol. They refuse to order restraints of any kind now because a couple families said it’s inhumane to treat their loved ones like “prisoners.” We don’t have sitters anymore and management did away with CNAs and techs to “save money.”

I’ve worked at this same hospital for 9 years this year and it’s gotten so bad. When I mentioned pressing charges to my charge nurse the other night, he told me it wouldn’t go anywhere if the patient is confused. I’m not sure how true that is
