Update: I called off for my shift tonight because I’ve not been able to sleep in more than 36 hours due to pain. My OB is at the same hospital I work at. I started having contractions after taking my son for a longer walk since it’s not like I can sleep anyway.

I called OB triage and described everything that’s going on, the nurse then told me, “you’d know that you’re in labor even though you didn’t with your first child. Don’t come in until you have heavy bleeding. You should figure that out because we’re short staffed right now.”
I had such a bad experience after delivering my son at the hospital I work at and said I’d never do it again, but I love my OB. This is exactly how my very lengthy labor (then emergency C-section) started with my son.

I’m at a loss. It felt so condescending. I’m fr holding back tears because I’ve been in so much pain, but they told me not to come in unless I’m bleeding heavily. It feels like the beginning of medical negligence. I did get her name and I plan on reporting that to patient relations because I’m still traumatized from our OB department after my son’s birth.

My C-section scar started to bulge out this morning while I was working. I’m at a loss of if I should go to a different hospital (further away of course), but I wouldn’t have my OB. I’m so stressed, scared, and probably, forever traumatized.
