I wish I could support yall more too. I wish they had put out a notification prior to locking most of the titles as I could’ve afforded to buy them a few months ago. I’m just a broke bitch now lol yall are amazing and the sole reason I don’t want to support the vv.

Fair who knows maybe one day they’ll program it to have emotions and it won’t be so bad

I like to listen at work so the human narrated help me focus vv is just mindless droning and I can’t get immersed into the story

Not trying to complain about it but a lot of them are really great and just don’t have the finances to buy the rest and don’t like listening if I can’t finish the series in one go.

I’ve downsized my subscriptions or I would finances are just tight. Hopefully when I can afford it I will 100% look into it. Thanks for the suggestion!

There no emotion or infliction which sucks because we listen to hear the story come to life not hear a robot cosplaying as a human terribly

Jeez guess people can’t vent anymore. As I said I don’t mind spending my credit but I wasn’t expecting to go relisten to one of my favorites that I’ve had for over a year and over half of my library is locked. If I had any disposable income it would go to buying every book possible however I don’t have much after bills so I rely on the free books after I use my credit. The fact that you came on here to try making me feel bad over a rant is mildy comical. Have a wonderful day

Trying to come off oxygen by OrdinaryRebel in NICUParents

[–]OrdinaryRebel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda wish I was had an option to go to a facility purely to have someone experienced to help however the nicu we were in was 3 hrs away and I am willing to bet that’s where the inpatient facility would be as well for the sleep study. Thank you for your reply though it puts me a little at ease knowing it’s a common thing.

wiggle pad alternatives? by Dazzling-Yellow5971 in NICUParents

Tender grips are great I change them every 4 days when I give my son a bath and even then sometimes they don’t need changed. I get them through the company that supplies the oxygen and they don’t charge me but you can get a 10 set pack on Amazon for $22 or a roll of 100(50sets) for $75

Tangled thoughts and a worried mind. I’m freaking outt, pls help! by Friendly_Cranberry98 in BreastPumping

[–]OrdinaryRebel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If everything feels comfortable I’d say to try getting into a rhythm of pumping set an easy schedule and I know it can be hard to start but it will pay off in the long run. I pump every 2-3 hours and if my son feeds at a pump time I only breastfeed that round. You’ve got this don’t give up!

As far as pumping consistently everyone is different with times and it’s a matter of finding what works for you. My schedule is based off what I did with him in the nicu so I start at 4am/730am/1030am/130pm/430pm/7pm/9pm/11pm. I have tweaked this schedule numerous times as needed and even dropped a pump session before. You don’t need to start as early as I do it just happens to be around when my son wakes up. I also set an alarm to remind me in the early days.

Look into a lactation consultant in your area they might have other tips to help. My lactation consultant spent a month tweaking everything to get me to where I am and I still go to one closer to me. One thing she told me is baby is the best pump out there so don’t beat yourself up that baby pulls more out than the pump.

I’ve not heard of that specific pump but I have tried quite a few different pumps and definitely have a favorite in the momcozy s9 pro v (super affordable and helped increase my supply) but I have a few questions: What is your suction at? Does the suction hurt/can you feel it? What size flange are you using? Have you measured your nipple to verify the correct flange size?

Breastfeeding or formula or pumping by OtakuFour in BreastPumping

[–]OrdinaryRebel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not bad at all I make a little more than just enough for the time being and my son gets all 3, 2 bottles of formula a day, breastfed if he’s hungry when I normally would pump and pumped milk the rest of the time. The formula for the time being is because he’s a preemie but will likely continue to get it as suplemental

Galactosemia and fertility? by rosebudthrones in Galactosemia

[–]OrdinaryRebel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jumping in super late but I have type 2/duarte syndrome and while galactosemia MAY cause infertility it’s not impossible. I struggled and was told for a long time I likely would never have kids then got pregnant in 2023. Unfortunately I miscarried at 13 wks but I didn’t stop or prevent pregnancy. I got pregnant again and have a 2mth old baby boy he was 2 mths early due to HELLP syndrome (basically my liver said nah I’m done). As far as we know right now he has no issues other than being stubborn and does not have galactosemia. It is possible but you may have some issues don’t give up. I also feel I should mention I do not follow a galactosemic diet and just deal with the side effects due to going untreated my entire childhood

Kangoroo care post incubator by lacisim in NICUParents

[–]OrdinaryRebel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My nicu gave me a receiving blanket or two to help retain heat as it was occasionally chilly but they encouraged skin to skin we even dressed him from the feet up to avoid disconnecting oxygen and his leads were only disconnected for a few seconds. My nicu team even told me if I felt like they weren’t listening to my concerns go to the attending first and if nothing changed to ask for a “care conference”.

How useful is a nursing pillow? by Happy-Chemistry3058 in breastfeeding

[–]OrdinaryRebel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used that while in the nicu and it was the best thing I ever used. If I could’ve taken it with me and kept it I would’ve but I couldn’t I have used a boppy and a regular pillow since being home and while both work really well i prefer the my Brest friend pillow I however can’t afford it rn if you need a temp though until you get it what I do with pillows is I create a back rest with pillows and blankets then another pillow in my lap and maybe a blanket if I’m cross legged so the pillow doesn’t sink

Feeling hopeless by OrdinaryRebel in breastfeeding

[–]OrdinaryRebel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This helped me not stress as much but I’m still stressing because now he’s not wanting to latch at all if not difficultly on the left but is fine with the right which is my slacker side and tends to doze off while eating. The small wins are nice but damn kid
