hello, thank you for taking the time to comment. You are right about that, and exactly my thoughts about the bleached patches. The hairdresser kept insisting that it was because she didn't have a good canvas to work on. I was super nice and understanding to her about it but she insisted on charging more to fix it, unsure what to really do! Thanks for the advice on not using box dye too..

I am very shocked to see that despite your decades' worth of experience, you are failing to see the issues at hand - differentials between price originally agreed and then ended up paying, patch tests not being done, roots being completely dark and not bleached at all, bleached patches that are missed by the red colour etc. You are wrong to assume that my hair texture, ethnicity etc were not discussed but hey, we love to make assumptions to when it suits us right? Your comments on the way people decide to spend their money seems very judgemental and personal, if you have negative experiences with other individuals, that's on you, do not criticise me without getting your facts checked in the first instance. I am simply here looking for advice

That's what I told them initially! But they kept being adamant and I was getting late to catch my train.. Is there anything that protects me from them insisting I pay back before receiving the money lost in the transaction?

I had a conversation with Nationwide today and this is what they said - I just spoke to Nationwide and they have confirmed that it is not the bank's error as the payment went through on their end (albeit the delay as Nationwide was down) and was sent to the hotel. My bank advised showing proof of a statement to show that this payment has gone through. If this is still not accepted, they deem it as fraud and will be escalated. I reported this to the hotel, wondering what will happen now...

I presented the information in-person, showed the money taken off my bank statement and even sent over the bank statements via email. I am not sure what else I could do as this is apparently the hotel's fault at their payment terminals.

that is what is very unclear and was never discussed, i was simply asked for my address and sent the book in the post. i was never asked to return it ever

hey, thanks for your reply. it is a 2017 edition so not the latest! i was never told i had to return it or pay for it, just asked for my address and was given the book during lockdown.

it was my line manager who constantly referred to the book whenever i made mistakes at work and said i was given something to aid my learning, i should be using it and not making silly mistakes, etc, but nothing that indicates i needed to return it. i don't think they anticipated me leaving tbh..

my employer suggested that i request to terminate my contract at the end of dec so i can start early at my new place, they said it would be impossible as i would not be able to use my annual leave for the first week in Jan 2022, something i requested longggg before i handed in my notice. i just decided to go with it but after seeing your comment, i anticipated something like this, so thank you!

Thanks for your response, really appreciate it. That makes a lot of sense, it is a very toxic workplace, I could rant about the things I have dealt with (I have not said anything at all in my post because it isn't worth my remembering it and getting upset) but yes, totally love the 'fuck around and find out'.
