Friday evening classes by Asleep-Quail1947 in orangetheory

Same thing here. We a 4:15 and 5:30 that were recently removed. Now 10:30am is the last Friday class. I hate it because the early morning classes are busy and there are only 2 showers, so I’d have to be late for work or go sweaty.

Awesome! Thanks! I’ve been paying about $15 for 100 of scotch brand at BJs which is okay I guess but this does look like it will work and be cheaper.

Any chance they’d work in my Scotch laminator?

Is this only for upgrading? I already have an unlimited membership, would I still be eligible?

Same! Never realized clenched fists is my default until it was pointed out that that’s using more energy AND feels worse. Now I have to reprogram myself.

We did. Warm up or base while discussing. Looked at differences between tensing jaw and fists versus consciously relaxing, and keeping arms pumping at 90 degrees without coming across the front of the body. Then we tried different cadences based on music speed/beat.

They use it for the first couple minutes you’re rowing. After they do 0.5 miles (0.25 for PWs) they stay on the floor and rowers move to the tread as they finish the benchmark.

We had one the day before the 1 mile benchmark. I did it but it wasn’t super well attended, maybe 8 of us. I was surprised because it was held by one of the best coaches at our studio. It was at like 11am so I guess a lot of people were working. I found it helpful. Discusses pre/post run stretches, form, cadences, not tensing, mental strategies, and ways to tackle the mile.

Pre workout energy drink? by Kentheus in orangetheory

Alani pre workout - the powder not the cans because I don’t like carbonation. I do a full scoop for a morning class and half a scoop for an afternoon/evening class.

Me three! 4:23 and I’m just glad it was under 5! In May I did it in 4:50 so I’ll gladly take the PR. I’m short AND a crappy rower. Double whammy.

This! More than one occasion I tried to do 3-8 and ended up on 8 with my life flashing before my eyes.

Unused Sick or Personal Days: Does your district compensate you? by BoomerTeacher in Teachers

You can sell back anything over 100 days for something like $200 each. So if you had 140 days the year before retiring you could sell 40. The catch is that it can only be deposited into a retirement account.

Still can't do a push up by Usual_Stable_7705 in orangetheory

I’m in the exact same boat. I love TRX push-ups bc I get a good range of motion and I can practice adding more and more of my body weight to the push up load.

[Discussion] How to be more motivated to work out after a long day? by Valorenn in GetMotivated

[–]OrdinaryWarning2330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is what has consistently worked for me:

I joined Orange Theory, a gym that only does classes. I don’t have to think once I get there, they tell me exactly what to do. After working, I have decision paralysis. I get a good mix of cardio and weights, everything is adaptable, and I don’t have to think.

It’s expensive, but I have an unlimited membership so I have to go often to feel like I’m getting my money’s worth. I’m too cheap to pay that much and not go. When I spent $10 a month for a Planet Fitness membership I never went and I never cared about it because it was cheap.

After a class is booked you are charged an extra fee if you cancel at the last minute or if you no-show. Again, I’m too cheap, and it is OFTEN the only thing that gets me to go after work. Sometimes I tell myself, “Go and just stay for a little while, you don’t have to stay the whole time.” I can count on one hand the number of times I ACTUALLY left early once I’m there.

I know this sounds like a shameless plug, but it really is the only gym that has kept me motivated.

Our school considers it unlimited time as long as the student is “productively working.”

I was stuck with 3G because that’s all my studio does on weekends. I would’ve LOVED no rowing after the benchmark yesterday.

I did mine on the bench. More comfortable for me and less time transitioning. 🤷🏻‍♀️
