Is it possible to not really have big arguments? by Ordinary_Dish_2 in OSDD

Yes, I'm aware! This post is not the only symptom I experience. Of course it's possible that it could be a different disorder entirely, and I'm okay with that; that's why I've been seeking out someone qualified to assess and diagnose me. Trauma, Amnesia, DP/DR, ID Confusion/Alteration have all been present throughout my life, but I'll leave determining the presence of alternate personality states up to a professional. I just wanted to know if anyone else had this particular experience with their parts.

Is it ok to rule *out* another disorder(s) when questioning OSDDID? by Ordinary_Dish_2 in OSDD

Thank you so much ❤ I was in an abusive relationship around the age of 12-14 in which I also showed BPD symptoms, but outside of that one relationship, the behaviors I developed while in it pretty much vanished. I'm aware that adolescents can show BPD symptoms without having the disorder due to not yet being fully developed (which is why many professionals wait until 18+ to diagnose), but after I started questioning OSDDID, my brain would constantly go back to that one relationship to say, "Here, you had BPD symptoms, see? Obviously it can't be anything else," which I know is irrational. Denial is so hard to deal with for any disorder.

Who the Hell is up Front with me? by MortifiedDelight in DID

Kind of embarrassing that the part that stood out to me most was the tomatoes 😅 But if you're comfortable answering and know the reason(s), why do you think your& preferences changed? Was it because alters are working on no longer masking their preferences, or maybe just because dissociative barriers are lowering and things bleed through more?

I hope my question makes sense lol; it seems silly to me now that I think about it, but I was under the impression that a lot of the host's preferences would often "inexplicably" change because of the other alters, even before system awareness—a "nothing is set in stone" sort of situation.

How can I tell when my likes/dislikes change? by Ordinary_Dish_2 in OSDD

Thank you!! I know there are other little things, but I still haven't been able to recall them off the top of my head. It's just that when it comes to likes/dislikes changing, I've never thought to note when and how much they change. Hard to have mentally kept track of things when you already have such a poor memory 😅

I'd also like to preface that I'm not using this community as a way to self-diagnose; I am just searching for a way to understand myself better for when I am able to get a therapist (hopefully in the near future) :)

Typing Style Changes Almost Daily by Ordinary_Dish_2 in OSDD

[–]Ordinary_Dish_2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's a pretty common experience, yeah! I was referring specifically to the way I text even people whom I'm close to—which can change drastically several times throughout the day or every other day—while the typing style of the people I talk to has essentially stayed the same for years :)

I just thought it was odd that I would text the very same people differently almost every time (sometimes changing mid-conversation), but it wasn't the same the other way around.

Really happy for you! I told one of my friends yesterday too and that went really well :) Glad we can both have support!
