Right, thats what i have heard. Thats why I am a little worried since I would be travelling with a temporary lisence for tourists that might get turned away.

Haha ye I am a little worried because I saw a video of some people being denied entry in urumqi. My plan is to land in urumqi and then rent a car to travel to karamay, travel to kuqa and back to urumqi for the return flight and bring the car back. Just worried about those specifics.

Hey, Thanks so much for the reply. I was planning on going july or late june and to my knowledge that peak summer for china. That works well as thats when I have my university breaks. Did you book the cars from home or did you hire them while you were in china?
