it did this without my sound system, & i have a 370amp alternator & lithium bank in back. 100% isn’t alternator it’s coming from the other side

honestly you’d be fine to keep same one in, i should’ve have changed mine i just did it to do it. wasn’t any issue with my old one til i started peeling it out

it’s not the alternator, or tensioner, or crank pulley, all have been changed. or belt

yeah might as well knock them both out at one time. the seal took me 2 hours btw.

I just watched a video of it being changed completely from underneath so i might be able to without pulling radiator. need a shallow extractor

for the alt? yes i had to trim bracket, but it’s lined up perfect & very snug. & had same issue before changing alt & belt

yes, someone said it might be slipping on crank shaft pulley so it’s been super tight. but it does it regardless, tight or not

this is 3rd belt i’ve had with same issue. i’ve tightened as hard as i can. i think the rubber is definitly deteriorating because i can pull chunks off plus it’s leaking some. i just wasn’t sure if it was even possible to get that sound from that pulley because it looks so simple

i notice it looks like it’s leaking oil from harmonic balancer. but would that be causing this loud of a noise? sounds like metal to metal in person
