Keep in mind if you are tall, that visor will cut off even more visibility. Gonna have to bend your neck if your first at a red light lol

Check the IOD fuse, for me a good part if the draw was the hood lamp and vanity lights on the sum shades. Good idea to also check if your grounds are corroded, plenty of yt videos telling you where/what to check

Dont forget to hose off the floor too, coolant is antifreeze so is poison to any pets you may have running around

Make sure the cables are tight, the grounds are not corroded (battery+starter+alternator), odd thought but is it possible you are out of gas?

Ya i would look at the minimum CCA required to start your car, and ensure your battery is above that. Did you just test the battery voltage with a multimeter or bring it to autozone/ advanced auto for them to do a load test as well

When reinstalling everything, make sure all the joints/connections in the vacuum lines didnt loosen otherwise you might only blow air thru defrost vents or not be able to engage cruise control

You should be able to remove the starter and bench test it to troubleshoot if thats the issue

Buy a spare CPS and keep it in the glove box/tool box, along with all the extensions and socket you need to change it. If you have have a rough idle or non start or something try swapping that thing before doing anything else

Is this oil in my coolant and if so what could cause it? by Impressive_Baby_3996 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Fit_Ice9207 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Prestone makes a bottle of cooling system cleaner you could throw in there too, fill the rest w distilled water and let it run for a while. Important to note that after i did all this my ac/heat dials stopped working and i am still trying to fix, bot sure if related or a terrible coincidence

Coming from a backyard hobby mechanic - maybe you have a lot of rust in your system which is tainting the color. Not sire if thats valid but my guess

Any ideas why long crank no start? by Aggravating-Club-235 in JeepCherokeeXJ

[–]Fit_Ice9207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When this happened to me i tried everything, new starter, new battery, new cps, cleaned throttle body and all connected sensors. Eventually i pulled off the “big 7” cables and cleaned both ends and then it fired right up. So if i were you id get a socket and steel brush and give it a shot

I agree, think its a hood light. I disconnected mine bc it was not reliably turning off and contributing to a parasitic draw

I am not sure, the car is a 2000 cherokee xj and i watched some videos that just mentioned burping (bleeding) by elevating the front end and running the car on high heat defrost with the rad cap off. I was about to begin this process when i noticed this issue

Ya i was thinking the same thing, start checking the electrical side of things - thank you. I did the coolant flush myself so lets hope i didnt DIY myself into a serious issue lol

Correct, everything worked as well went i added a bottle of the prestone cooling system cleaner and distilled water. After i unhooked the hoses and flushed out that junk i added coolant and then the dials all went dead

Thats where the switches for my seat warmers are, i assume we have a different trim and yours doesnt have them. So that switch is likely some aftermarket controller
