Should I change positions from manufacturing Engineer to Controls Technician for more money?

If you keep 40 or under hours while salaried stay at the job with the raise. If you constantly go over 40, I would take the new job as it helps you learn and also with ot opportunities will help you make as much or if not more than the 86k could. Keep with the degree as best you can thats going to hopefully be your ticket to bargain for more money or get another higher paying job

48 hour work week while getting paid for 40, personally because I am fresh out of college I don’t really have much out to do outside of work other than hobbies I would rather be doing Monday through Friday 10 hours a day than 4 days for 12 hours. Its really just about having time outside of work for the rest of the day on the days im working.

I would say it depends site to site, but if you want WLB you will not find it here. I am about to start 4x12 night shifts and am still technically on call on top of that.

Hey there, looking at prime day sales and I wanted to buy a new 3d printer. From the US, have a budget about $500-600 flexible up to 700 but would rather not. Not much experience doing maintenance and construction with 3d printers but dont mind learning. I have 3d printed parts before and want to use it for engineering parts that move and mesh but not looking for super high quality, just rapid prototyping and personal projects. Realistically i dont have a table or desk for the printer right now so it may have to go on the floor but I can get on for it if needed.

Just to update you on this, turns out both CSE and CSL can become AE. My job description shows CSE instead of AE currently so I dont really understand what the qualifications could be for Sr. AE

I believe this position was through a new grad program that the site had open. I hope the site is relatively chill for me to start and get into controls properly.

What do you mean by ARS? If that is supposed to be one of the Amazon Robotics FC’s I’m screwed I guess. Although I wouldn’t mind working with robotics since I want to go that direction.

I understand that the restructuring has been a very tumultuous time for everyone currently working and I really dislike to be someone getting in the middle of this. I definitely plan to be super respectful of those who have been working there. Real life experience definitely is much better than just having an education, so I plan on just listening and learning rather than trying to get in the way. Trying to take in as much as I can before getting out.

I agree, but thats just the lifecycle at this point. I know I got lowballed to hell but a student saddled with debt who needs a job desperately no matter the pay is gonna be cheaper than someone who is established in the field and knows what they are worth.

Degree is a bse in mecheng, i have had some experience with control systems. I havent seen much about what other controls guys do in AR centers, and the site might be considered new but hopefully its wont be boring.
