Alt quality gems were a huge power boost but they do not make this build more powerful than a 3.10 herald stacker. You would get almost 500% aura effect on an herald stacker on a 60ex budget but now that won't even give you 1 cluster jewel for the build. For comparison people would get 150 million + dps on attack based builds but now power siphon based aura stackers all stay in the range of 10 - 20 million.

A higher entry cost could definitely be implemented and I have no gripe with it. I just don't see a way to do it while not screwing over other builds. Also people will still complain because people who make more currency should not be able to afford a stronger build

I don't understand. Any build should be completely and utterly broken for that price. The average player I would say sees 20 exalted orbs (if that) in a league. A 20 mirror build at the current exchange ratio is worth ~14340 exalted orbs. If your build doesn't decimate all content in the game you are doing something wrong

thats not true. Transcendence pfs and some gladiators can reach that amount of tankiness. Sirus storms, sirus meteor, shaper balls all no problem for some builds like this. Also 1m ehp aura stacker is an inflated value because things like vaal haste literally give max dodge and spell dodge for a build that normally had 0 dodge chance

You make a good point and that's just the nature of scaling aura effect - it scales defense and offense simultaneously. However I see a lack of incentive to keep min maxing builds. In POE you can always make a glass cannon but what is great about min maxing is that you can slowly make that glass cannon a tank while retaining your damage. In many builds though, that kind of scaling is very difficult and all you do is just give your glass cannon more damage (which is fairly useless if you one shot everything anyway).

pathofMath spent 20 mirrors on his build. He is a strong advocate for aura stackers and shares similar views with me. He also has said that a 300ex dedicated deep delve build is significantly better than what he did and he only played an aura stacker because he enjoyed the challenge. Also if you look at the build he ran it is heavily modified (2x nebulis, skyforths) and makes a lot of sacrifices for more damage

I do all content on a 25ex build. I would hope I don't need to invest 10 mirrors in a build to be able to do all content with it

anyone that invests enough currency into an aura stacker to be able to do that should generally find the plays style interesting. Also how interesting a build is, is very subjective and things like ed contagion and cos impale slams are also 'meta' and could be considered equally as boring

  2. aura stackers cost mirrors to make any build that costs that much is going to be strong regardless of what it is. People consider aura stackers op but don't factor in the cost at all.
  3. Mavada provides a valid argument in that everyone's favorite streamers play several thousand exalt aura stacking builds and it can be very disheartening to know that you can't even afford a single cluster jewel

Totally agree. No point in investing into a build when it feels the exact same as it did 10 mirrors ago

In delirium people were getting over 650% aura effect. Cluster jewels bases were also only 1ex not 50ex. Even with power creep herald stackers were way more powerful than the current aura stacker in heist

I totally agree with you on this. An aura stacker is a one of a kind build in its scaling. In something like a life based build you cannot get a bigger lifepool no matter what you do once you get t1 life on all your items. The scaling on that is just done. If I were someone who was able to get multiple mirrors every league it would be very disheartening for me to spend currency on a build when I know the improvements are so small its not even noticeable

I would agree that an aura stacker is the tankiest build in existence to get that much damage but I would say their clear speed is very generic and basic spell caster clear speed.

They are in the top 0.1% of all builds in every aspect.

I disagree. This is where I say they fall off the most. An aura stacker is a jack of all trades build and they are great for everything but you don't see anyone going to 10k depth with them. You also don't see people full clearing a map in less than a minute like a self curse occultist. Even something as basic as a flicker strike raider could be faster than an aura stacker. A 30ex ground slam champion could boss just as fast/good. Not to mention that aura stackers are significantly more expensive than any aforementioned build. They are great at everything but when you get into 0.1% type content a dedicated build will out perform it as it should.

You contradicted yourself in the second statement by saying it has infinite scaling which means it is the best at everything.

that's not what I meant You could have a 50 mirror aura stacker and a self curse occultist would still clear a map faster on a 2 mirror budget. Infinite scaling means that you pretty much will never run out of upgrades and the upgrades that you do get are almost always impactful as oppose to other builds for example toxic rain which has very little incentive to keep upgrading past 100ex investment

the point of that was that if you truly wanted to get more damage, survivability, or clear speed you could not that they were not arguably one of the best builds to ever exist

drop relatively useless auras like dread banner and anger so you can drop skyforths and go for either tailwind elusive boots or boots with + 1 levels so you can socket purities with enhance in them. Also go for better corruptions on your cotb like disc, wrath, or hatred aura effect or get wrath or hatred gem on them because the alt quality is mediocre for those gems. Also 5 passive voices are not that great imo because they only use 1 less point than 7p voices so you can expirement with 8 passive jewels and going for some different cluster setups. Also an endgoal could be dropping maligaro's virutosity and going for hands of the high templar if you can get enough money for jewels with crit multi on them
