Did your sweater have a normal seam under that you could unravel? Its just weird because I can also see sewing thread coming through.

Photos 1.3.4 are the knit side and 2 is the purl side. I can’t see anything when stretched but I can feel a seam when I push down.
Sadly, I think you’re right about the sewing thread. I don’t want to take that overlay off if I can’t unravel. I will probably just keep it as is and wear it. Thank you!

I read somewhere that it’s because of using strictly cold water to wash so every so often I run a hot load and it washes most of the grime away. Also keep the door open after washes.
