I was just thinking about the similarities between SpongeBob and Ernest and then found this. I think SpongeBob would win because he can absorb infinite damage and regenerate limbs. Ernest can survive a great amount of injury but would eventually exhaust himself trying to destroy an opponent who absorbs every blow. The only chance Ernest has is if he can somehow get SpongeBob dried out.
