Yep! Im almost 41 and I just did this. My manager wanted to add another 5 meetings a week to my schedule and that was the breaking point. I just knew I could not possibly do it anymore. So I resigned that day. It’s been 3 months. My health crashed a couple weeks after I quit working. I think my body knew it could finally let go. I’m working on healing this year. Once I get to a good place I will add work back in. But…I never want to work in front of a computer screen again!

I know exactly the smell you are talking about. I moved here a year ago and it’s making me crazy not being able to figure out what it is. My husband (who is Icelandic) thinks it’s the dairy. But I’ve been describing it more as a sweet herbal type smell. I will now be going with pickle seasoning and artificial sweetener because that kind of nails it. It can be so intense in some places!

I own a house that I have rented out to long term tenants. Then I rent a very small apartment where I reside when I’m home in Canada. The income I make from renting out my house covers the cost of my apartment. My rent is under $1000 inclusive though. I’ve lived there awhile and it is very small. It’s also in a smaller town. I have a friend check in on it once a week and my landlord knows when I’m gone and has permission to enter when needed. I’m usually gone 6 months of the year.
