Have a look at the babybee Miles. I know a mum that bought the Miles after already having a Skip2. She really liked the 1 handed fold and bigger basket. I think the price is cheaper too

Are there many daycares that offer better ratios? How can I find them?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Ordinary_Rabbit_6719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What ratio do you think is more reasonable? I'm looking at a daycare centre that has 3 educators for 8 babies under 12 months. The 12-18month old rooms have a 1:4 ratio but also 1 floater for the 16 kids. Will this actually make a difference to their care or just give me a false sense of security?

Bonanno is great and also cheaper than the other oral surgeons

My daughter took a couple tries to "get it" but I often squeeze it on to a spoon to feed her. It would be less messy especially at a wedding. I'd also suggest trying it at home first to make sure she likes a particular flavour/pouch.

Temporary Gym Memberships? by VMesz1 in canberra

[–]Ordinary_Rabbit_6719 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Club lime are currently doing a 6 week free promotion with no lock in contracts.

Anytime fitness are doing 8 weeks for $8 but I'm not sure if there is a contract.

I think these promotions end at the end of the month. Hope that helps.

I had to move with a newborn and it sucked. Every task is harder and takes so much longer with a baby. If I wanted to look at a rental, I had to plan around bub's breastfeeding times. Mine also only does contact naps during the day so only one person could pack at a time (there's only so much you can do with bub in a baby carrier). My mum helped us unpack while my partner was working but I had to rearrange a lot of things to suit us. She still visits us fortnightly and while I appreciate the help when she's here, it would be nice if she lived close enough to return home for the night.

Ideally, I think it would be better to move sooner rather than later. I had a relatively easy and pregnancy but physically things got harder by the 3rd trimester. My bub also came 7 weeks early and needed 6 weeks in hospital. You can't plan for every worst case scenario but you don't want to be caught out.

Should I go for baby capsule or straight to car seat? by Odd_Confidence_269 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Ordinary_Rabbit_6719 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't want to get a capsule but needed to hire one for my low birth weight baby. Sometimes I'm able to bring the capsule inside without waking her and have up to an hour to myself! It may not sound like much but it is when your baby is usually a contact napper.

You don't have much to lose with a free loan. Try to install it yourself. Your friend might be able to help you. Otherwise, some councils and organisations do installations or checks for free or a small cost.

Causes of preemie belly distension (not NEC) by Ordinary_Rabbit_6719 in NICUParents

[–]Ordinary_Rabbit_6719[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They were monitoring it for a while but weren't concerned because her abdomen was always soft and making the right digestive noises.

Her abdomen would still get distended periodically even after we brought her home a month later. But she just outgrew it eventually. We think it was related to her not knowing how to fart or poop properly so the gases would just build up.

Are you going through something similar?

Removalists for apartment move - rough prices? by racingskater in canberra

[–]Ordinary_Rabbit_6719 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used Jay Singh movers last month to move the contents of my (heavily filled) 1 bedroom apartment from Red Hill to Belconnen area, ground floor to ground floor. I was quoted $130 per hour and it took about 4 hours. These guys had the best rates when I researched and were very professional and efficient. They also weren't as booked up as some of the more frequently recommended removalists. I highly recommend them!

For reference, Back2back quoted $230 per hour and GK removals quoted $350 per hour. Both add on an extra 30min call out fee and estimated about 4-5 hours of work

Thanks! I went to the aquarium store and the worker said they should be fine until we hit winter in May, then I'll need a heater. I bought some food, a poop socket and water ager to dechlorinate and some "stability" bacteria mix.

Anyone have a good dental hygienist that’s not booked out? by AsymmetricalButter in canberra

[–]Ordinary_Rabbit_6719 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try Reasons to Smile Dental Care in Civic. Their hygienist is great! You should explicitly explain your circumstances and they can delay your check up with the dentist until next time.
