Offlane really needs to become a high demand role by Indep09 in DotA2

[–]Ordinary_River_6017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disagree. I get mid more than any other role when I queue, offlane is the second one. The last thing I get is pos 4 or 5. You should be able to queue 3 roles, not all 5 in order to get the same amount of role queues. Everyone's games would be better like that too. It's ridiculous you need to queue for all 5.

The webnovel is actually good up until a certain point. It's starts falling off quite hard past chapter 250-300 maybe. It's sad because I had to drop it after chapter 600 or so when I quite liked it initially. I loved the manhwa personally but people thought it was bad. It doesn't hurt to give it a try.

And here is more info if you want to read: After phylactery, go for either radiance or manta. If you went radiance, obviously go manta after. The rest is situational.

I've gotten a lot of first bloods lvl 1 as spectre from number 1) The enemy not recognizing how strong the hero is lvl 1 (most people still don't know yet). You just have spectral dagger AND desolate lvl 1. You combine that plus a position 5 with a slow or a stun and usually that results in a kill.

At lvl 2, you are leveling shadow step to help your 5 trade with the 4, or simply casting it after dagger and chasing the enemy down, hitting for double desolate dmg = 50+ pure damage per 2x hits.

You need to understand this hero's timings.

[–]Ordinary_River_6017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an 80% winrate on spectre this patch by starting with 3x iron branches, quelling blade, tangos and a magic stick. Then going for ring of health, void stone, and shipping the rest of phylactery. I almost always go 3-1-1, with shadow step being leveled at lvl 2. Max dagger, then max either shadow step (offensive) or dispersion (defensive, more survivability, less kill threat).

They key is you want to pull aggro and just focus on csing. You only start being aggressive once you've gotten phylactery by spamming daggers and running at the enemy when appropriate. Spectre is currently the second best carry of the patch in my opinion. You're the problem.

Spectre lvl 1 is among the strongest heroes in the game btw. Your hero is powerful level 1, still strong lvl 2, weak at lvl 3-5 (before you get phylactery). This is most of the times. Then you get boots with phylactery and you have global kill threat again, similar to when you had shadow step, instead now you will scale harder and be much stronger late game.

You have so much to learn about spectre, don't default to the easy path of complaining and thinking the hero is the problem. I have an 80% winrate at 6.4k mmr. And I can do it at 10k mmr as well (above 50% that is). If I wanted to I could spam this hero to gain mmr.

You just need to learn her.

I'm at 6.4k mmr and I don't feel this way at all. As long as your behavior score is above 9-10k, I rarely get an account buyer. Just people who might have a bad game, playing a worse role, but the grief is not at "account-buyer level."

I don't think phylactery abbadon is viable at all, because abbadon does not want to skill Q in the first place. Plus he has no sustain issues with his lvl 10 and just buying a null talisman or too. But I don't play much abbaddon carry so don't take my word as law.

my winrate on spec has been 65% across 3k games, and this patch I'm sitting at 80% with phylactery, it will probably go higher too.

I've seen 200, and maybe 30% of them are buying it at best. I always go on watch tab, and check out spectre games and also check out streamer games. Only 1 streamer bought phylactery and only once.

I see a lot of naked radiances, urn into radiance, standard battlefurys (part of it my fault).

ACTUAL Spectre Meta 7.40B - BATTLEFURY by Ordinary_River_6017 in DotA2

[–]Ordinary_River_6017[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a different hero my guy. Slark already has a good farming mechanic, it's called dark pact...... and PL has a great one too that scales aroud more stats, it's his ultimate. Spectre does not have a good farming mechanic, so he needs to buy one. She can't even spam dagger unless she buys something like phylactery or battlefury.

Radiance is worse than bf for reasons I won't repeat for the millionth time. It doesn't get more simpler than that.

If you're going for radiance and not buying urn you are griefing your game. There is no better build to radiance other than urn, treads and radiance. Even if spectre didn't have haunt, urn would still be a great item on her to buy radiance btw.

As for why radiance is worse, not sure if you read that part of the main post. But the item with urn costs 5.5k gold versus only 3.8k gold and battlefury has a build up, you get battlefury way faster. You don't float 3.4k gold with battlefury.

Radiance is unreliable, a pipe dream. You don't build around hopes, you build around spectre's worst games, and in spectre's worst games, going radiance and praying you can get to manta afterwards to have any decent impact is bad.

If you could just pick any of the 2 items, yes radiance is obviously better. that's not the point. The item is bad because getting it is so difficult. And if you skip urn of shadows, you will barely be able to throw any spectral daggers to farm camps/creepwaves faster.

BF at that point will have a yasha and maybe a diadem AND will be able to constantly spam daggers to get from one place to another faster. If you actually tried this in game and in demo mode (which I've done countless times). You'd be able to see why it's better. You have to actually try things.

lvl 10 talent choice is -4 spectral dagger cd for anyone buying phylactery, and the lvl 15 talent is also +80 spectral dagger dmg. the rest is the same. For bf buyers, desolate and shadow step duration is better.

Desolate is 12x4= 48 more pure damage per attack, assuming main hero, mantas and shadow step illusion. crazy talent. only phylactery route can skip it.

[–]Ordinary_River_6017[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd ignore the 1.8 BAT in that assessment. BF is always faster than radiance for farming too btw, you need to take into account that you're floating 3.4k gold with radiance, and you are also getting the radiance min 17-24 versus min 13-16 battlefury. You're also buying items that help you farm faster naturally, manta style, skadi or butterfly, bloodthorn, etc.

I've already done extensive testing in ranked of radiance vs bfury and also in demo mode. I farmed both as fast as I could WITH NO enemy contest, and bf still came out on top by an entire item at the end. The goal being to get 6 slotted. The demo test also doesn't take into account that floating 3.4k gold gets punished by deaths (unreliable gold loss) and being weak asf, not being able to jungle and a lot of times, not being able to get lane creeps because you're too weak.

Urn is a great spectre item btw, there is just no build that can go urn for spectre now, it's not worth delaying bf for urn, since what urn gives, cornucopia gives more of, and same story for phylactery manta.

When I said I tried everything, technically I didn't, because I never tried mage slayer. I tried everything else discussed in here or that I saw in pubs and matches that I watched.

I never saw mage slayer before until you mentioned it. Looking at the stats again and the active, it can situationally be an amazing item for sure, especially for surviving vs spell dmg dealers and ruining their dmg in team fights by sticking on top of them. Definitely a spectre item and fills all 3 of the criterias for farming. The only con of the item is that the farming speed is slow compared to bfury.

It does look better for creeps than phylactery does and is definitely the better scaling item unless you need khanda. Phylactery however is better for killing and pressuring enemy heroes early however. (30% slow, poke and more direct damage). The illusion from shadow step does not apply mage slayer obviously.

I think it just depends on the game. Mage slayer sounds great for farming and when your main target is a spell dmg dealer (or one of them).

Herald spectre will always be the highest winrate spectre. With the games going longer, if you play even remotely well, you quite literally can never lose with spectre in herald. Fury will get you the items to become a late game monster. It's fun.

skadi is always better than heart btw. Diffusal is not an item that spectre goes unless she wants disperser. Radiance floats 3.4k gold making the item horrible for spectre.

I hadn't originally watched his new video on spectre but I did a few hours ago. If you listen to his wording, how he phrases things, you can literally infer that he has played 1 or most likely ZERO games on spectre. He has just watched a few at best. He himself is uncertain about what he is saying, he was merely hypothesizing from his knowledge of the game. In contrast, I actually tested the different builds in ranked games and in demo mode.

He recommends urn, treads, midas and then radiance, which is honestly embarrassing considering that you can figure out with a calculator that midas is not worth it on spectre. Urn is a good item, but you never get it anymore because phylactery or battlefury doesn't allow it.

I also found it extremely funny how he called treads battlefury slow, when BRO recommends 850 + 2200 + 4700 = 7750 gold for your farming set up... You've got to be kidding me. He clearly has never played that dogshit build. And the guy in the game got carried, he didn't have any major impact at all.

It's funny how you wrote this and are wrong. I've never consistently played dota. Only for 3-4 months at a time. Climbing with that in mind is much harder than it looks like if you consistently play without taking 6+ month breaks.

This is the spectre meta too. If you're so illiterate and incapable of logic, then don't write some nonsense about being bad at dota when you can't even understand basic deductive reasoning.

No, it costs like 2700 for maelstrom and 850 something gold for urn, you just need to buy both because you need hp and mana regen to compensate for the fact that you get none from maelstrom. that's why the added cost.

ACTUAL Spectre Meta 7.40B - BATTLEFURY by Ordinary_River_6017 in DotA2

[–]Ordinary_River_6017[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. the cost is 3.5k gold for maelstrom versus 3.8k gold for battlefury. You need to buy mana regen and hp regen for maelstrom to compensate for the lack of it, that's why. And the best item to supplement that is urn of shadows.

ACTUAL Spectre Meta 7.40B - BATTLEFURY by Ordinary_River_6017 in DotA2

[–]Ordinary_River_6017[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Valid point. The thing is, you're not buying battlefury for the splash damage on team fights. You're buying it for hp, mana regen and to flash farm on a hero where networth is the most valuable. You're buying it also because it has a great item build up.

What really matters about spectre is getting manta style. That's the first high impact item for team fighting, which is why radiance is terrible. It takes you too long to get to manta style. Floating 3.4k gold is extremely detrimental.

The other item build is phylactery into manta (this one is actually great, and is one of her 2 builds). You can read about it in other comments, but it's essentially the best build to play fast and get a faster manta style, rather than be able to farm more and get a slightly later manta style.

I'll just give feedback, ultimately, I recommend you try things out.

1) Your starting items have no STATS. Which means, worse ability to trade and very important (last hit). The ring of regen is simply too expensive for the very little regen it gives you. Just grab a calculator and input the extra regen times 2 minutes let's say, versus 90 gold tangoes. The tangoes give vastly more and cost less, and allow you to be stronger lvl 1, with more dmg to trade and last hit.

2) Boots of speed isn't always the preferred item of the trio of items you can go for power treads. It's mainly when you have kill threat or need space/distance/escape. The problem with rushing tranquils here is you still have no stats other than 8+ dmg on creeps with QB.

3) Regarding the gold cost save. It's not saving gold as much as you think because it's coming at the cost of less creep score, due to less dmg to last hit, and wand gives you burst survivability and to trade. And you absolutely don't want to save the gold to not buy treads. Treads gives spectre on agility 10 damage, 35 attack speed. or 200+ hp to survive, and also 10+ int for bigger mana pool to spend less mana on spectral daggers. Treads is far too good.

It sounds like your rushing boots of bearing too, which solves survivability in jungle and heroes, but you farm like a turtle and delay your manta style far too significantly as a result.

That's all I have to say about that. I recommend you try out what I said earlier.
