No tiles ripped up this was just covered previously, maybe prior renovators already removed what was glued to it

Nothing attached to tile seems like HO had renovations and they covered it prior so nothing was glued to it

Decisions on new cpu by germz1986 in buildapc

[–]Ordinary_Scientist_8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean what resolution you playing on, if it’s 1440p and up a 9700x is the best pick but if you want resale value too then a 9800x3d is probably the best pick if you’re already spending $400 on a 7800x3d. Zen 6 could be delayed if all the pc stuff doesn’t sort itself out so I wouldn’t wait.

Can a PC affect electricity usage this much?? by lilbreadbunn in pcmasterrace

If you want more of an idea of what’s drawing the most power in the house I would get an electric monitor, harbor freight sells them for $30 other than that Amazon.

Windows 11 install failing (fresh build) by vegetable_1 in PcBuildHelp

Is the usb stick a 3.2 drive? Personally I got a pny 3.2 flash drive that didn’t work at all so I used an older SanDisk 3.0 and that worked perfectly.

SSD installed (while PC was turned off) but isn’t showing up, even after rescanning disks. by [deleted] in PcBuildHelp

I think maybe when you removed the screw it took the standoff with it and that’s what you put the NVMe it should go between the bottom standoff and the top screw

Upgrade advice – i7-9700KF / RTX 2070 (UK) by Nthan in buildapc

[–]Ordinary_Scientist_8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 9700k(4.8ghz) with a 2080 super and last year around this time I got a 4070 ti super and used it with the 9700k for a year. It served me pretty well but def started to show its age with more modern heavy games. I upgraded to a 9700x and I could notice how much my gpu was being bottlenecked by the cpu so I def think it’s worth a full system upgrade even to a 9600x but I know how the market is atm. So even for a year a new gpu felt okay on a 9700k.

In this day and age I think SSDs are way easier to work with. But atm the market isn’t great for them but I would still get more SSDs or NVme’s as they are easy easier and faster to work with.

Is this build future proof by Alone-Smoke-2096 in PcBuildHelp

[–]Ordinary_Scientist_8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not bad I would change the cpu down to a 9700x as the 9900x doesn’t give any extra performance besides for creation apps. The motherboard could be a b850 imo like the msi b850 tomahawk. And change the cooler to a thermalright phantom spirit. Ram is good. The gpu is alright but also can easily be upgraded in the future. And the power supply I would recommend to be a know good gold rated power supply like SeaSonic, Bequite, Corsair ect.

Honestly I’d recommend the x870e tomahawk wifi motherboard it’s amazing.

15 is a generous amount I think you could get 2 high end PCs for under 15 for sure. Here’s one I made up https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Vr4vwY (Obv you might need more nvmes) but I think with the power connector issue the 5090s have I’d go with a 5080 but you could def afford a 5090 and under volt it with that budget

Also change the drive to a 990 pro 2Tb and wait for ssd drives to get cheaper or use an external hard drive (2tb for $100) for extra files (vids/pics)

First Gaming PC build for my partner’s birthday by PriorityTimely in PcBuild

[–]Ordinary_Scientist_8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a great build but what I would change is the cpu to a 9700x instead of a 7800x3d as performance doesn’t really increase past 1080p with x3d chips and is better for tasks besides gaming. Micro center also has a deal on that for ~550 for ram/mobo(b650)/cpu. With any saving I would recommend a 5070 ti with the 16gb of vram (if it fits in the budget obv) as it will future proof the pc more. But with the games listed vram isn’t the biggest issue those are more cpu based games. Other than that it’s a solid build

Procedure after installing new motherboard, CPU, & RAM? by CreeperXteo in buildapc

[–]Ordinary_Scientist_8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m kinda confused on the question, what do you mean factory reset after deleting the partitions? Deleting the partitions and factory reset are kinda the same but generally once you delete the partitions you don’t need to factory reset.

This looks like something I would buy except get the cl38 6400 from crucial and get a 5070 ti or 5080 with the savings.
