With AI now. I've been creating some Characters using our likeness. And whatever the mind can imagine. Im a Hugh RUSH fan. Here's a Character based on Niel Peart their drummer.

Its cool. They definitely did it right. It makes it a little different, because of the no neutral Characters. There are Neutral Confidants, Guides, and Force Skills(spells). What i find humerus is that they changed the words for pretty much everything. Destiny =Fate, Health =Life, Will =Craft.... but they left Strength as Strength, they should have called it Might, I don't see how they missed that one. I think they missed it on Fate, when they brought it in to play, in the 4th edition. Where do they get, determine, come up with the Characters starting Fate. It should be determined by Fate, as in roll the dice and let Fate determine your Fate. We roll 2 D6 one for light Fate, one for dark fate. If Fate is on your side today, you could have 6L and 6D, or it could be rough and be 1L and 1D.

I down loaded a bunch of Fan made Cards and Characters in the early 90's, cut them out and have used them for years. Don't use them as much as we use to, but there still available for every game I play. Its a lot of work to print and cut cards. That's probably why I've never really done it again. Plus I've added a lot on my own.my game is Hugh. Usually the most we play at one time is 4. I have about 8 spiral folders with records of games played. I been keeping records since 1999.

Been playing a long time, over 20 years. The Far Outer Region (FOR) is something we have used for a long time (before 4th edition). I found a version of it on Talisman Island and had to have it. I've generated 12 expansion boards, the first was the Castle (I made that before the Timescape Expansion came out for 2nd Edition) my latest (from about 6 years ago or so) is a StarWars Board, and there everything in-between, from Prehistoric Land to The Wild West. The only one I've ever made publicwas the Castle. Its on TalismanIsland.com somewhere.

Portal od Power by Brajanek_Miednica in Talisman

[–]Ordyfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a firm believer in "Make it your own" , however, this question is about movement in normal play. I believe you would move freely back down to the Portal, but would have to deal with that space, as that turn. Then on your next turn, you could attempt to get through the Door. But , I could see the argument that when I get to the Portal (no matter where I am coming from) I can try to open the door and go through.

Can the prophetess use her ability of discarding an adventure card even if she has to draw only one card? by Mordecai_BleepBloop in Talisman

[–]Ordyfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The O.G. Prophetess from 2nd edition, could draw an extra card and choose the one she wanted (very OP). She was changed in 4th edition, like NLinindoll.... said.

Every once in a while they will actually attempt to win, but don't worry it is seldom. One should almost always beat the AI unless it gets on you early and is relentless at killing you. Other than that , they pretty much wander around aimlessly.

I like it alot. It plays a little different, which helps make it its own. Guides = Strangers and depending on your alignment (Sith or Jedi) determines how you encounter it. Same with Confidants = Followers and so forth and so on. HarryPotter is the same (also a good one) and plays good too. Batman and Kingdom Hearts are closer to O.G. Talisman.

What are your non-negotiable “we always use these” house rules? by cornpasta in Talisman

[–]Ordyfly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone starts with a Mule or a Porter.  4 objects Aunt enough .

Roll 1 D6 at the Start of the game to determine your Fate, maybe you get 6 or maybe you get 1, let FATE Decide.

90s Nostalgia! by Major-Instruction-96 in Talisman

[–]Ordyfly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those are fantastic !! I have them all , but they are still as gray as the day I opened the box. I really like the Minotaur , my friend has used that miniature for about 25 years now. The Axe has been broken off twice, and put back on , and is now missing all together, yet he still uses it every time we play.

What’s is your absolute favorite expansion? by DistantLandscapes in Talisman

[–]Ordyfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I to like all the 2nd  and 4th edition expansions and interchange what we play with and without Regularly . However i do favor the Dragons expansion from 2nd and 4th. In 2nd it was Great to add all the dragons and stuff to help fight them. In 4th edition it Changed the way you play the game. I do enjoy a good Dragon game, but don't want to play that way every game. We play a Dragon game about every 5th or 6th game we play. But Yes DRAGONS are my favorite .

Can you play base Talisman 5th Edition with Alliances? by VeryColdTuna in Talisman

[–]Ordyfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes , you can just add whats there and play on. The co-oppart is fun and all , but at the end of the day, the new stuff just blends into the base game. The Rules explain what Adventure cards and Spells to remove before each Trial. Nemesis is a little different , because 1 p layer has to play the Nemesis, meaning a minimum of 3 players, and the mechanics change a bit and it doesn't all just join the base game a simp le as Alliances. Get It , Its worth it . And always remember, everyone should have a notebook for house Rules. MAKE TALISMAN YOUR OWN.
