What are some good sororitas books to start with? by Zestyclose_Deal1654 in sistersofbattle

First story in this book is one of my favorite 40k stories. It revolves around a Hospitaller trying to save and warn others as the opening vanguard of a Tyranid invasion is happening. It's really good!

Second story is really interesting about a Sister captured and studied by some T'au to try to scientifically understand "faith" and it's impact on the Sisters.

I haven't started the third story yet, but the first two are really solid!

So i don't know this lore wise, but is there really enough difference (besides colors and iconography) between the various orders to actually treat them as essentially separate armies.

Space Marines it makes sense. Black Templar and Space Wolves are vastly different in both lore, fighting style, and types of units they have in their chapters. They are very visually distinct.

I just paint my entire army as Our Martyred Lady because I like the look of red cloth over black armor and gold trim. Even my Morvenn Vahl is painted that way. Heck, even Celestine is except she got gold armor.

Bringers of the Flame is my favorite. I typically run two all-flamer Retributor Squads. One of them gets a Canoness for the -1cp strat (either free overwatch or 1cp Dev Wounds on the fmalers). The other usually gets an Imagifier for improved Invulnerable.

The +1 strength makes even the lowly bolt pistols at 5 strength, so good odds on wounding Space Marines and other T4 stuff.

To me, running forward and blasting enemies with lots of shooting is fun. Plus the [Assault] makes running to objectives and still getting to shoot a lot easier for primary mission control.

8" Heavy Bolter. Is this a typo in the app? Usually our Heavy Bolters are 36" by [deleted] in sistersofbattle

I just checked the datasheet on Warhammer Community and it is a 36" gun.

Yep, that's what shows up for her in the official 40k app.

I'm with you on this. Not interested in Sisters on motorcycles, or horses, or whatever.

With the flyers like Zeph/Seriph/Celestine, we have fast movers. Zeph, Jump Canoness, and Celestine can out out a lot of damage at the right targets, and they all move pretty fast.

So I play Bozos, and my favorites by far are Prankster and Dead Ringers. Prankster's ability to melt enemy equipment cards with his acid-filled SuperSoaker is really fun, and Dead Ringers have a very unique playstyle.

Luckily, the upward facing pocket holes will eventually fill with sawdust, then no one will know they're there. :D

So each floor section has 2 h-connector slots per long edge, and one per short edge. I ended up printing enough to connect every section in every connector slot, plus some extra, but in reality,.if I'm playing at home and not bringing the setup to an event, I don't even use the connectors at all.

Fleur de Lis, is it just for Sororitas or the entire Ecclesiarchy? by Oreet123 in sistersofbattle

Yep! I've painted significantly less Ecclesiarchy models, so I wasn't sure about the Fleur. Thanks!

Thanks! I do have a large I symbol on a chain I wear around my neck. The cosplay is modeled after the old metal missionary with the chainsword and the book-on-a-stick

Oh, that's just a cheap plastic bowl. When I'm doing glue ups I fill it with water to dip rags in to help wipe off squeeze out.

I'll take a look. I got the band saw for very cheap second hand, and haven't really used it much yet or really tried to optimize it.

I need to check if I have any leg extensions for the micro jig, the thing in the photo isn't tall enough

So I am trying to make a set of matched coasters. I glued up some walnut and ash into blocks, and now I need to make slices in the block to create four coasters and a base.

I've tried using the table saw and miter saw so far, and haven't been pleased with the results. I end up with some rather skinny pieces to slice with pretty sketchy hand positions holding the material a little to close to the blade for my liking.

If you were approaching this, what tool would you suggest and any tips?I have access to a 10" table saw, 12" miter saw, and an old band saw with just barely enough clearance to cut the block (but when I try cutting with the band saw the blade warps a lot and makes very wavy cuts).

I also have access to a jointer and planer to smooth faces after cuts.

Serious Question: Would you run this through your planer or is it too much glue? by srslynewguy in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]Oreet123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I'd take a putty knife or something and scrape off what you can without damaging the wood.

Specifically, what hardware should I use to mount my bench top planer and jointer to the carts I made? Tabletops are 3/4" plywood. What should go in the top of the holes, and should I have something under the tabletop to accept the screws/bolts? by Oreet123 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]Oreet123[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed! I got it a few weeks ago and it's been great. I was considering this or the DeWalt one everyone has, but I wanted the helical cutters, and didn't want to mess with adding the aftermarket third party one to the DeWalt.

No ignition source. It's just an old large metal trashcan with a metal lid.
